Review Meta AnalysisRisk of reinfection and disease after SARS-CoV-2 primary infection: meta-analysis.
A precise estimate of the frequency and severity of SARS-CoV-2 reinfections would be critical to optimize restriction and vaccination policies for the hundreds of millions previously infected subjects. We performed a meta-analysis to evaluate the risk of reinfection and COVID-19 following primary infection. ⋯ A strong natural immunity follows the primary infection and may last for more than one year, suggesting that the risk and health care needs of recovered subjects might be limited. Although the reinfection rates considerably increased during the Omicron wave, the risk of a secondary severe or lethal disease remained very low. The risk-benefit profile of multiple vaccine doses for this subset of population needs to be carefully evaluated.

Review Meta AnalysisRisk of Ischemic Heart Diseases and Stroke in Behçet Disease: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.
Behçet disease (BD) is a systemic vasculitis. In addition to the mucocutaneous lesions, the vascular injury of pathophysiology in BD is theoretically correlated with cardiovascular diseases. This study aimed to elucidate the association of BD with ischaemic heart diseases (IHDs) and stroke. ⋯ BD was significantly associated with stroke but not IHD. Physicians should be aware of possible vascular and neurological complications during care of patients with BD.

Review Meta AnalysisInfluence of placebo effect in mental disorders research: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
Randomized controlled trials (RCT) in mental disorders research commonly use active control groups including psychotherapeutic shams or inactive medication. This meta-analysis assessed whether placebo conditions (active controls) had an effect compared to no treatment or usual care (passive controls). ⋯ A small placebo effect was observed in mental disorders research overall, and in patients with anxiety or depression. These findings should be interpreted with caution in the light of heterogeneity and risk of bias.

Review Meta AnalysisEstimate false-negative RT-PCR rates for SARS-CoV-2. A systematic review and meta-analysis.
Molecular-based tests used to identify symptomatic or asymptomatic patients infected by SARS-CoV-2 are characterized by high specificity but scarce sensitivity, generating false-negative results. We aimed to estimate, through a systematic review of the literature, the rate of RT-PCR false negatives at initial testing for COVID-19. ⋯ This systematic review showed that up to 58% of COVID-19 patients may have initial false-negative RT-PCR results, suggesting the need to implement a correct diagnostic strategy to correctly identify suspected cases, thereby reducing false-negative results and decreasing the disease burden among the population.

Meta AnalysisVariants of Candidate Genes Associated with the Risk of Obstructive Sleep Apnea.
The researches on the associations between different candidate genes and obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) are inconsistent. Here, we performed a comprehensive qualitative and quantitative analysis to estimate the contribution of variants from candidate genes to the risk of OSA. ⋯ Eleven variants from the candidate genes are associated with the risk of OSA, which also show ethnicity differences in East Asian and European subgroups.
