The UK COVID-19 vaccination programme began in December, 2020. By February, 2021, eight North West London Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) had the lowest vaccination rates nationally. This study evaluated the impact of behavioural science-informed (BI) letters on vaccination uptake. ⋯ None.

Evidence suggests that experimentation and use of electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes) is increasing. E-cigarettes are widely promoted on the internet, and user-generated content and influencer marketing on social media represents an important influence in shaping pre-adolescents and adolescents' understanding of issues and products. We aim to explore pre-adolescents and adolescents' responses to, and engagement with, e-cigarettes and the broader e-cigarette marketing environment, including user-generated and influencer content. ⋯ Cancer Research UK, UK Medical Research Council, and UK Chief Science Office.

An estimated 5 million people in the UK are food insecure; with women and children being the most affected. Food insecurity is particularly concerning for pregnant women, lactating mothers, and young children, who have high nutrient requirements. News media can shape public perceptions, is powerful at framing health issues, and in creating public demand and support for health policy. We aimed to explore how UK newspapers portrayed food insecure pregnant women or mothers of children aged up to 1001 days (hereon called mothers). ⋯ None.

In the UK, one-in-three births are to a non-UK born woman. A gap exists in co-produced research to understand their experiences. The UK National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) defines co-production as "an approach in which researchers, practitioners, and members of the public work together, sharing power and responsibility". This project co-produced a grant proposal to improve maternity care for underserved migrant women in the UK. We reflect on transferrable learning for engaging those whose voices are less-often-heard in grant writing. ⋯ National Institute for Health and Care Research Design Service London Public Involvement Fund.

The mental health of the nursing and midwifery workforce in the UK became a public health concern before the COVID-19 pandemic. Poor mental health is a known factor for those considering leaving the profession, and workforce retention of younger members is crucial for the future of the sector. The aim of this study was to provide up-to-date estimates of mental wellbeing in this workforce in Wales during the COVID-19 pandemic. ⋯ None.
