Primary dyslipidaemias, including familial hypercholesterolaemia, are underdiagnosed genetic disorders that substantially increase risk for premature coronary artery disease in adults. Early identification of primary dyslipidaemias via lipid clinic referral optimises patient management and enables cascade screening of relatives. Improving the identification of primary dyslipidaemias, and understanding disparities in ascertainment and management, is an NHS priority. We aimed to assess determinants of lipid clinic referral or attendance (LCR) in ethnically diverse adults. ⋯ NHS Race & Health Observatory.

Pharmacy professionals (pharmacists and pharmacy technicians; PPs) are recognised for delivering public health interventions (micro level). There is increased policy focus on population health management, but limited knowledge regarding the role of PPs within UK's public health meso and macro levels. This study aimed to explore UK PPs' public health qualifications, specialisations, and motivations and barriers to pursuing advanced public health practice. ⋯ NHS England and UK Health Security Agency.

Reducing the burden of falls and fall-related admissions to hospital and care homes is an important policy area because falls cause significant injury leading to a reduced quality of life. We investigated the effect of the environment around people's homes on the risk of falls for older people in Wales. ⋯ Health and Care Research Wales.

Previous studies have investigated the risk factors for post-stroke depression at only one timepoint, neglecting its dynamic nature. We aimed to identify trajectories of post-stroke depression from multiple assessments and explore their risk factors. ⋯ National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR).

Chronic conditions in children are associated with an increased risk of mental health problems. However, not much is known about the nature of this association among care experienced children. We explore the association between three chronic conditions (epilepsy, asthma, and diabetes) and mental health hospitalisation in children with or without care experience. ⋯ Economic and Social Research Council, Medical Research Council, Scottish Government Chief Scientist Office.
