This meta-analysis was designed to fully assess the curative effects of radiotherapy-based therapies for human epidermal growth factor receptor 2-positive (HER2+) breast cancer (BC). ⋯ Radiotherapy-based therapies might have certain advantages in treating HER2+ BC patients.

Clinical trials assessing the combination therapy of metformin plus dipeptidyl peptidase-4 inhibitors versus metformin plus Sulfonylureas on risk of cardiovascular disease, cardiovascular mortality and/or all-cause mortality in type 2 diabetes have shown conflicting results. We therefore evaluated the combination therapy on the risk of cardiovascular disease, cardiovascular mortality and/or all-cause mortality in type 2 diabetes. ⋯ The combination therapy of metformin plus DPP-4 inhibitor significantly decreased the RR of nonfatal cardiovascular events, CVD mortality, and all-cause mortality, compared with the combination therapy of metformin plus sulfonylurea. However, the number fatal cardiovascular events (e.g., heart failure) was not significantly different between the 2 groups.

Exacerbation of primary intestinal lymphangiectasia during late pregnancy and recovery after delivery: A case report and literature review.
Primary intestinal lymphangiectasia (PIL) is a rare disease characterized by dilated intestinal lacteals resulting in lymph leakage into the small bowel lumen. Main clinical features include intermittent diarrhea, hypoproteinemia. Scattered case reports suggested that PIL is compatible to pregnancy, but with increased complications. ⋯ PIL could be compatible with pregnancy, but requires strict adherence to dietary treatment, proper management of the symptoms (e.g., hypoalbuminemia), particularly during late gestation.

Huangqi injection in the treatment of chronic heart failure: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
To evaluate the clinical effectiveness and safety of Huangqi injection (HI) in treating chronic heart failure (CHF) systematically. ⋯ Compared with WM, a combination of HI and WM was more efficacious in improving the clinical total effective rate, and perfect patients' condition, but more evidence-based medicine researches needed to support this study further.

Successful 5-azacytidine treatment of myeloid sarcoma and leukemia cutis associated with myelodysplastic syndrome: A case report and literature review.
Myeloid sarcoma (MS) and leukemia cutis (LC) are extramedullary tumors comprising myeloid blasts. They can occur de novo or concurrently with hematological disorders, usually acute myeloid leukemia (AML). AML chemotherapy is generally the initial therapy for MS and LC, and hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) can be considered as additional therapy. However, treatment for older patients who are unable to continue intensive chemotherapy is not currently standardized. ⋯ 5-Aza was well tolerated and may be a good option for the treatment of MS and LC associated with MDS, especially in older patients who cannot receive HSCT.
