Botulinum toxin type-A (BTX-A) has been successfully utilized to treat trigeminal neuralgia. In this study, through the use of a new technique, the efficacy of the injection of BTX-A to the maxillary and mandibular nerves was evaluated. ⋯ Injection to the maxillary and mandibular roots seems to be a highly effective method. In the event of recurrence, after each injection, the pain severity and attack frequency decreased.

Primary pulmonary enteric adenocarcinoma (PEAC) is a rare subtype of primary lung adenocarcinoma. However, it is not known whether there are any distinctive clinical or molecular features. PEACs were retrospectively identified in 28 patients from July 2014 to June 2016. ⋯ EGFR mutation rates were higher in PEACs, which are cytokeratin 20- and caudal type homeobox transcription factor 2-negative (P = .041). PEAC is a rare and heterogeneous nonsmall-cell lung cancer subgroup with distinctive clinicopathological, radiographic, and molecular features. These results need to be further confirmed in future studies.

Five years experience on 3,4-diaminopyridine phosphate in Lambert-Eaton syndrome: Case reports.
To report our experience on 7 patients (4 males and 3 females), affected by nonparaneoplastic Lambert-Eaton myasthenic syndrome, treated with 3,4-diaminopyridine phosphate (3,4-DAPP) either alone or in combination with other immunosuppressants or steroids. ⋯ In this study, we confirm 3,4-DAPP treatment efficacy on muscle strength, but minor evidence of drug effectiveness have been demonstrated on the autonomic nervous system involvement and on the deep tendon reflexes reappearance, a part from patients who received 3,4-DAPP associated to prednisone.

ERCP-related complication is not the only cause of GI bleeding in post-liver transplantation patients: A case report.
Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) is the treatment of choice for biliary complications in liver transplantation (LT) recipients as it is both diagnostic and therapeutic. The specific risks following ERCP among LT recipients have not been well studied. ⋯ ERCP-related complication is not the only cause of post-ERCP bleeding, and that other primary causes should also be ruled out.

Cronkhite-Canada syndrome associated with colon cancer metastatic to liver: A case report.
Cronkhite-Canada Syndrome (CCS) is an idiopathic, nonhereditary syndrome haracterized by gastrointestinal (GI) polyposis and ectodermal changes including alopecia, onychatrophia, and pigmentation. CCS colon polyps were previously considered to be benign neoplasms. However, serrated adenoma was reported to be associated with malignant neoplasms in some cases of gastric and colorectal carcinomas, and esophageal cancers. Although malignant colon and gastric cancer have been reported in CCS, reports of distant metastasis have been rare in CCS. ⋯ CCS is a rare cause of multiple polyposis most often treated with hormone therapy. Regular follow-ups are very important to ensure discovery of malignant tumors at an early stage. Studies with longer-term observations and larger sample sizes will be required to confirm these observations. However, characterization of molecular markers for the early detection of malignant transformation that might allow less invasive and more cost-effective surveillance of colon cancer is urgently sought.
