Randomized Controlled Trial
Comparison of laryngeal mask airway supremeTM as non-inflatable cuff device and self-pressurized air-QTM in children: Randomized controlled non-inferiority study.
Supraglottic airway (SGA) device with non-inflatable cuff reduce the airway complications associated with cuff hyperinflation. The aim of the study is to determine whether the default setting of Supreme is as effective as the non-inflatable cuff devices. The oropharyngeal leak pressure was measured and compared between the Supreme and Air-Q, a typical non-inflatable cuff device. We hypothesized that the default setting of Supreme is non-inferior to the the Air-Q self-pressurized (SP) in respect to the oropharyngeal leak pressure. ⋯ The Supreme can be used in the default setting in pediatric patients accordingly in terms of tolerable leak pressure and the stability for mechanical ventilation compared with Air-Q SP.

Omega-3 and ranibizumab (O3R) has been reported to treat age-related macular degeneration (ARMD) effectively. However, up to the present, no systematic review specifically addressed the efficacy of O3R for the treatment of ARMD. Therefore, in this study, we will propose to assess the efficacy and safety of O3R for the treatment of ARMD. ⋯ PROSPERO CRD42019121177.

Video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) has developed rapidly and a variety of feasible technical methods have been formed. VATS is the main way of lung cancer resection nowadays with minor surgical incision and less bleeding. Robot-assisted thoracic surgery (RATS) is a revolution in surgical procedures and robotic pulmonary resection has been put to use by an increasing quantity of hospitals around the world. However, the widespread adoption of robot-assisted lung cancer resection is controversial. We aimed to evaluate quality metrics of these 2 different approaches of operation by this review and meta-analysis. ⋯ To our knowledge, this will be the first time to use meta-analysis to assess quality metrics of video-assisted thoracoscopic lung cancer resection and robot-assisted lung cancer resection. The results of this study will provide more proofs for researchers, clinicians, and patients with lung cancer to choose a suitable surgical procedure. There is not enough high-quality evidence of RCTs to be included, due to the characteristics of interventions. We will try to include some non-randomized controlled trials, small sample trails. Although our team has experience in carrying out a systematic review and meta-analysis, there may be high heterogeneity and low reliability of evidence, which is the limitation of this study.

The clinical use of tirofiban remains controversial for patients with acute ischemic stroke (AIS), we aimed to conduct a meta- analysis of cohort studies to assess the efficacy and safety of tirofiban for AIS patients. ⋯ The stronger evidence about the efficacy and safety of tirofiban for AIS patients will be provided for clinicians.

Multicenter Study Observational Study
Inverse regulation of serum osteoprotegerin and tumor necrosis factor-related apoptosis-inducing ligand levels in patients with leg lesional vascular calcification: An observational study.
We hypothesized that circulating osteoprotegerin (OPG) and tumor necrosis factor-related apoptosis-inducing ligand (TRAIL) levels could be associated with vascular calcification, which is predominant in diabetes. The study included 71 Korean participants (36 with diabetes and 35 without diabetes), who were sub-grouped according to the results of the ankle-brachial index (ABI) and/or X-ray computed tomography scan (CT scan). Serum OPG and TRAIL levels were assayed using the respective enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay kits. ⋯ TRAIL down-regulation was more strictly controlled than OPG up-regulation; it was significantly downregulated in the participants with PAD and vascular calcification, but not in the participants with diabetes. Serum OPG and TRAIL were regulated in the participants with femoral, popliteal, and peroneal artery calcification but not in the participants with aortic calcification. OPG up-regulation and TRAIL down-regulation were found to be associated with leg lesional vascular calcification; therefore, the average OPG/TRAIL ratio was significantly increased by 3.2-fold in the leg lesional vascular calcification group.
