Meta Analysis Comparative Study
Vonoprazan versus proton pump inhibitors for the management of gastric endoscopic submucosal dissection-induced artificial ulcer: A systematic review with meta-analysis.
Vonoprazan, a novel potassium-competitive acid blocking agent, has been used in the management of endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD)-induced artificial ulcers. This study aimed to perform a systematic review and meta-analysis for the comparison of the effects of vonoprazan and proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) in treating ESD-induced artificial ulcers and preventing delayed bleeding in randomized controlled trial and cohort studies. ⋯ There was no substantial difference in ulcer healing and post-ESD bleeding between vonoprazan and PPIs. However, vonoprazan more rapidly and effectively treated artificial ulcers after ESD than did PPIs.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the rate of dysphagia between zero-profile spacer versus cage-plate for the treatment of multilevel cervical spondylotic myelopathy (CSM). ⋯ Our meta-analysis reveals zero-profile spacer is better than the cage-plate in terms of dysphagia. This suggests zero-profile spacer is a superior alternative invention for the treatment of multilevel CSM to reduce the risk of dysphagia.

Intervention for burnout among English education undergraduates: implications for curriculum innovation.
The present study investigated the effect of Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) intervention on burnout among English education undergraduates in southeastern Nigeria. ⋯ Given the present finding, the REBT program is an effective intervention for preventing and managing burnout among students. The present study has important curriculum innovation implications as far as English education is concerned especially in the Nigerian context. This intervention program can be included in the students' curriculum activities so as to equip the students with necessary therapeutic skills to manage burnout symptoms presently and in the future.

The percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) has been one of the fastest growing therapeutic interventions for patients with ST elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). However, the mortality of patients with STEMI after PCI is uncertain currently. There is a paucity of systematic review on the associated factors of mortality among patients with STEMI after PCI. Therefore, this meta-analysis was designed to synthesize available evidence on the prevalence and associated factors of mortality after PCI for adult patients with STEMI. ⋯ PROSPERO CRD42017070969.

Invasive candidiasis: Risk factor for mortality in a pediatric tertiary care hospital in south of Brazil.
Invasive candidiasis (IC) is a major cause of morbimortality in children. Previous studies described the clinical characteristics and risk factors for this infection; however, limited data are available on the predictors of mortality in these patients. In this context, we evaluated the risk factors associated with death due to IC in a pediatric tertiary care hospital in South of Brazil. ⋯ Data from this study suggest that biofilm formation by Candida sp. is associated with increased mortality, and this is the first study to correlate the male sex and cardiological disease as risk factors for death in pediatric IC patients.
