Case Reports
A typical 22q11.2 deletion syndrome and pseudohypoparathyroidism: A CARE compliant case report.
It is rare to find 22q11.2 deletion syndrome with pseudohypoparathyroidism in children. Furthermore, the phenotypic spectrum of this disorder varies widely. ⋯ Signs of this syndrome include delayed speech development due to velofacial dysfunction, recurrent croup attacks during early childhood due to latent hypocalcemia, and mild dysmorphic features. The findings of this patient indicated that 22q11.2 deletion syndrome may include a wide spectrum of clinical findings and that this diagnosis needs to be considered for all patients presenting with hypocalcemia, regardless of age.

Observational Study
Dose optimization strategy of sacrum limitation in cervical cancer intensity modulation radiation therapy planning.
The aim of this study was to investigate the dose optimization strategy for the sacrum to reduce the risk of pelvic insufficiency fracture (PIF). Using a retrospective study design, we analyzed data from 28 patients with cervical cancer who underwent postoperative adjuvant radiotherapy in our department from June 2017 to January 2018. Among these patients, 20 (71.4%) underwent external beam radiation therapy in the pelvic lymphatic drainage area (node-negative patients). ⋯ In the lymph node boost group, the irradiation dose of the sacrum and pelvis was significantly increased (P ≤ .001). Increasing the limitation of the sacrum, on the basis of pelvic bone limitation, in cervical cancer intensity-modulated radiation therapy can significantly reduce the dose to the sacrum. Compared with the dose of 5000 cGy to the lymphatic drainage area, the dose of 4500 cGy was the largest influencing factor to reduce the dose to the sacrum.

Essential thrombocytosis with recurrent spontaneous abortion in the mid trimester: A case report.
Essential thrombocytosis (ET) is a myeloproliferative neoplasm characterized by clonal proliferation of the megakaryocytic lineage within the bone marrow and phenotypically by an elevated platelet count in peripheral blood. Common vascular complications include thrombosis, microvascular disturbances, and hemorrhage. ET with recurrent spontaneous abortion as the primary symptom is rare. ⋯ Recurrent spontaneous abortion in the mid trimester might be associated with ET. Thus, a detailed investigation including blood routine examination to identify an abnormal platelet count is warranted for pregnant patients with such a history in order to facilitate timely treatment.

Gastric cancer is still one of the most common cancer in East Asia. More than 70% gastric cancer patients are diagnosed at an advanced stage in China. Moreover, about 10% cases are unresectable which usually suffer a poor prognosis with a median survival time of 5 to 12 months. In recent years, some clinical studies found that many unresectable gastric cancer cases could get opportunity for surgery after treatment that improve prognosis significantly PATIENT CONCERNS:: 64-year-old male patient was admitted with upper abdominal pain. Upper gastrointestinal endoscopy showed a large ulcerated tumor located from the cardia to the anterior wall of the upper gastric body. Histopathological examination showed it was moderately differentiated adenocarcinoma. Computed tomography (CT) scan image showed a large bulging mass with internal ulcer at the lesser curvature wall, left gastric artery and coeliac trunk were surrounded by fused lymph nodes. ⋯ In this case, oral chemotherapy combined with TACE which was rarely reported in the treatment of unresectable gastric cancer achieves a great therapeutic benefit. Although further clinical studies will be needed to establish, it may be a potent strategy for degrading stage and supplying a new chance for surgery.

Aortic dissection (AD) is one of the most lethal cardiovascular diseases. The aim of this study was to identify core genes and pathways revealing pathogenesis in AD. ⋯ Taken above, the study reveals some candidate genes and pathways potentially involving molecular mechanisms of AD. These findings provide a new insight for research and treatment of AD.
