This study aimed to investigate the recurrence patterns of advanced gastric cancer (AGC) after curative total gastrectomy and further explore predictors for each pattern of recurrence. Data of 299 AGC patients between 2010 and 2014 were retrospectively analyzed to investigate the clinicopathologic factors affecting the recurrence pattern of AGC patients underwent curative total gastrectomy. Sixty-eight (22.7%) AGC patients had recurrence after total gastrectomy. ⋯ Multivariate analyses revealed that the extent of lymphadenectomy (P = .034, 95% CI: 1.074-6.414) and T4b status (P = .015, 95% CI: 0.108-0.785) were independent predictors for LR; histological type (P = .041, 95% CI: 0.016-0.920) and T4b status (P = .007, 95% CI: 0.102-0.690) for PR; and pN status (P = .032) for DM. In AGC patients following total gastrectomy, recurrent predictors various among locoregional, peritoneal, and distant recurrence. Recurrent predictors of tumor invasion, lymph node metastasis, and histological type could guide follow-up and risk-oriented adjuvant treatment, extended lymphadenectomy was considered to reduce LR of AGC patients after curative total gastrectomy.

A retrospective view of pediatric cases infected with SARS-CoV-2 of a middle-sized city in mainland China.
The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by SARS-CoV-2 had resulted in a global pandemic. A comprehensive analysis of pediatric COVID-19 cases is essential to decipher the natural features of children under the risk of this disease. In the epidemic period, all the children infected with SARS-CoV-2 in Wuxi, a city with a stable medical system during the COVID-19 outbreak in China, were enrolled for comprehensive data documenting their clinical, prognosis, follow-up, treatment and various tests results. ⋯ All these children had close contacts with their family members, some of those were confirmed COVID-19 cases. We provided a holistic and detailed portrayal of the pediatric COVID-19 cases in a typical city of timely response to the epidemic. While the family cluster exhibits the major transmission mode, attention should be paid for the potential risk since the expanded social space of children in future.

Kikuchi's disease with hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis: A case report and literature review.
Kikuchi's disease (KD) is a rare form of necrotizing lymphadenitis that rarely occurs in association with hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH) in children. ⋯ HLH can be associated with KD, especially in childhood, and may have an aggressive clinical course. Continuous HDF and PE and chemotherapy should be reserved for those patients who fail to respond to IVIG and corticosteroids.

Clinical features of velamentous umbilical cord insertion and vasa previa: A retrospective analysis based on 501 cases.
To identify the risk factors associated with velamentous cord insertion (VCI) and investigate the association between adverse pregnancy outcomes and VCI in singleton pregnancies and those with vasa previa. A total of 59,976 single cases admitted from Qinhuangdao Maternal and Child Health Hospital and Qinhuangdao Beidaihe Hospital from January 2004 to January 2014 were included in this study. We retrospectively analyzed the perinatal complications, neonatal complications, and the clinical features, as well as the Color Doppler ultrasonography findings of the velamentous placenta and placenta previa. ⋯ Of the women with VCI, 16.1% underwent emergency cesarean section compared to 8.9% (P < .001) of women without VCI. The prevalence of VCI was 0.84% in singletons. The results suggest that VCI is a moderate risk condition resulted in increased risks of prematurity and impairment of fetal growth.

Mediating effect of social support on the association between life events and depression: A cross-sectional study of adolescents in Chongqing China.
Depression is one of the most common mental health problems in adolescents. The link between negative life events and depression has been well established. However, our understanding about the role of social support in the link, which is likely culture-dependent, is quite limited. ⋯ Both frequency and perceived importance of social support showed a mediating effect on the association between life events and depression. Social support has a mediating effect on the association between life events and depression. Strengthening social support may be considered as an effective interventional strategy on depression in adolescents.
