Retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) is a potentially blinding eye disorder that primarily affects premature infants. Although a variety of managements are available for ROP, the efficacy is still unsatisfied. Studies have suggested that laser therapy (LT) may benefit ROP. However, no systematic review has addressed this topic. Thus, this systematic review aims to evaluate the efficacy and safety of LT for ROP. ⋯ osf.io/3tmnf.

Lung ultrasound vs chest radiography in the diagnosis of children pneumonia: Systematic evidence.
The aim of this meta-analysis was to evaluate the diagnostic value of lung ultrasound (LUS) in comparison to chest radiography (CXR) in children with pneumonia. ⋯ The available evidence suggests that LUS is a reliable, valuable, and alternative method to CXR for the diagnosis of pediatric pneumonia.

Interleukin 6 (IL-6) inhibitors are the first-line treatment for idiopathic multicentric Castleman disease (iMCD); however, there is no established treatment for cases that are resistant to IL-6 inhibitors. Although sirolimus, a mammalian target of rapamycin inhibitor, has been suggested to be effective in patients with iMCD, the long-term safety and efficacy of sirolimus on individuals with IL-6 inhibitor-resistant iMCD have not been evaluated. ⋯ This clinical trial will provide evidence regarding the long-term safety of sirolimus as a potential novel therapeutic agent for patients with tocilizumab-resistant iMCD.

Randomized Controlled Trial
Anaesthesia and ICU sedation with sevoflurane do not reduce myocardial injury in patients undergoing cardiac surgery: A randomized prospective study.
To evaluate the effect of anaesthesia and ICU sedation with sevoflurane to protect the myocardium against ischemia-reperfusion injury associated to cardiac surgery assessed by troponin release. ⋯ The use of an anaesthesia and ICU sedation with sevoflurane was not associated with a lower incidence of myocardial injury assessed by cTnI. Sevoflurane administration was associated with higher prevalence of acute renal failure and higher GDF-15 values.

Pneumonia is the second leading cause of death in children worldwide after preterm birth and certification. Bacteria, viruses, mycoplasma, and other microorganisms are known to be the main causes of pneumonia, of which bacterial pathogenic factors account for 12.5% of cases. The invention and application of antibiotics have improved the prognosis of children with community-acquired bacterial pneumonia (CABP) to a certain extent, but with the emergence of antibiotic resistance worldwide, the mortality of children with CABP is still high. "Maxing Shigan Decoction" and "Qingfei Decoction" have significant efficacy in the treatment of CABP in children, but there is no standardized randomized controlled trial to systematically evaluate the outcomes. ⋯ This clinical trial is the first to evaluate the efficacy and safety of "Maxing Shigan Decoction" and "Qingfei Decoction" in the treatment of children with CABP. The research results will provide a reference for future research design.
