Lumbar disc herniation (LDH) is a common disease that seriously affects patients' quality of life. Although several articles have reported that acupuncture can improve the symptoms of LDH, different guidelines do not evaluate the efficacy of acupuncture consistently, new randomized controlled trials have been published in recent years. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of acupuncture for LDH. ⋯ CRD 42019137399.

Acupuncture as adjuvant therapy for diabetic foot: A protocol for systematic review.
Diabetic foot (DF) problems are common throughout the world, about one-fourth of them develop a foot ulcer and serious cases would suffer from amputation, which seriously affects the patient's work and life. Previous studies indicated that acupuncture as adjuvant therapy would be effective in treating DF. However, these studies have no consistent results. Therefore, the aim of our study was to explore the efficacy and safety of acupuncture as adjuvant therapy for DF. ⋯ The summary of our study will clarify whether acupuncture as adjuvant therapy could be an efficient method for DF.

Probiotics, prebiotics, and synbiotics supplementation in prediabetes: protocol for a systematic review and meta-analysis.
The prevalence of prediabetes and diabetes is increasing rapidly, and 5% to 10% of prediabetic patients will develop diabetes every year. Diabetes causes major health problems as well as a large economic burden. Human studies have demonstrated the beneficial effects of probiotics, prebiotics, and synbiotics supplementation in prediabetes. However, there are no systematic reviews that explore the therapeutic efficacy of probiotics, prebiotics, and synbiotics supplementation in patients with prediabetes. Therefore, we aim to synthesize the existing evidence evaluating the effectiveness and safety of probiotics, prebiotics, and synbiotics supplementation in prediabetic patients. ⋯ The findings of this study will provide the best available evidence for probiotics, prebiotics, and synbiotics in the treatment of prediabetes, and provide a strong basis for clinical treatment.

Femoral head necrosis is one of the most common orthopedic diseases which can be diagnosed in all ages with different reasons. Taohong Siwu decoction (TSD) has been widely used in the treatment of femoral head necrosis. However, as far as we know, there is still a lack of supporting evidence regarding the efficacy of TSD for femoral head necrosis. Therefore, this protocol aims to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of TSD for femoral head necrosis. ⋯ The conclusion of this study will provide recent evidence to assess whether TSD is effective and safe in the treatment of FHN.

Effects of high-intensity interval and moderate-intensity continuous aerobic exercise on diabetic obese patients with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease: A comparative randomized controlled trial.
Some studies assessed the effect of aerobic exercise on diabetic obese patients with hepatic disease, while very limited studies compared high-intensity interval (HII) versus moderate-intensity continuous (MIC) on diabetic obese patients with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). ⋯ Exercise training wither HII or MIC aerobic exercise reduces IHGT and visceral lipids in diabetic obese patients with NAFLD. No differences were observed between the effects of both exercise programs on diabetic obese patients with NAFLD.
