Neuroblastoma is the most prevalent malignancy in infants characterized by heterogeneous prognosis. It is critical to stratify the risks for patients with neuroblastoma. To stratify the risks for neuroblastoma, clinical characteristics of neuroblastoma patients were retrieved from the Therapeutically Applicable Research to Generate Effective Treatment program. ⋯ The overall survival rate was significantly different between the PI discriminated high and low-risk patient subgroups. In conclusion, besides traditional staging systems, some newly defined risk factors could be involved in risk stratification for patients with neuroblastoma. Our nomogram may aid the risk stratification for neuroblastoma patients.

Tension band wiring is the most widely accepted technique for the treatment of patellar fractures but the technique is associated with common complications like wire migration, prominence, and breakage. To reduce these complications, we developed and propose a modified technique that has a superior biomechanical strength and a potential to reduce such postoperative complications. ⋯ From this case study, we can detect the biomechanical advantages of our technique which can increase the stability of the fracture and that allows early functional exercise and additionally the micromotion at the fracture site has a beneficial effect of fracture union. Based on the perfect outcomes, our technique is worthy of clinical application.

Advanced gastric cancer has a poor prognosis because of advanced gastric cancer is prone to metastasis. It is urgent for us to find an indicator to predict the prognosis of gastric cancer in a timely fashion. Research has revealed that inflammation has an important role in predicting survival in some cancers. ⋯ In univariate analysis, old age (P = .013), liver metastasis (P = .001), >1 metastatic sites (P = .028), higher NLR (P = .000), and higher PLR (P = .014) were identified as poor prognostic factors associated with OS. Our multivariate analysis had indicated that high NLR (hazard ratio [HR]: 1.617, 95% CI: 1.032-2.525, P = .036) and peritoneal metastasis (HR: 1.547, 95% CI:1.009-2.454, P = .045) was independent prognostic factors for overall survival; however, the PLR was not shown to be an independent prognostic factor. Our study suggested that the pretreatment NLR can be used as significant prognosis biomarker in metastatic gastric cancer patients receiving palliative chemotherapy.

Primary testicular lymphoma (PTL) is a rare type of extranodal non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL). Although data of PTL in patients with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) are accumulating, there are still patients respond poorly to prognosis. ⋯ PT-DLBCL has unique biological characteristics, and its treatment modalities are becoming increasingly standardized. In the future, systematic interventions need to be actively considered in the early stages of PTL.

The incidence of Hashimoto's thyroiditis among patients who have Turner syndrome (TS) has increased, but Graves' disease (GD) in patients with TS is rarely reported. Here we report a rare case of TS with GD accompanied by hypogonadotropic hypogonadism. ⋯ TS generally presents as hypergonadotropic hypogonadism. However, hypogonadotropic hypogonadism cannot completely exclude TS. The diagnosis of this disease depends on chromosomal examination. The disease should be detected and treated as early as possible to improve life quality of the patient.
