To investigate the feasibility of single-port endoscopic mastectomy via the lateral chest approach in the treatment of Simon grade II gynecomastia. Data from 12 patients with grade II gynecomastia admitted from January 2017 to November 2018 were retrospectively analyzed, and related satisfaction surveys were conducted 6 months after the operation. ⋯ There were no serious complications related to the surgery, and all the patients were satisfied with the postoperative appearance. The application of single-port endoscopy in the surgical treatment of grade II gynecomastia is safe and reliable.

Data mining technology used in the field of medicine has been widely studied by scholars all over the world. But there is little research on medical data mining (MDM) from the perspectives of bibliometrics and visualization, and the research topics and development trends in this field are still unclear. ⋯ The present study provides a panoramic view of data mining methods applied in medicine by visualization and bibliometrics. Analysis of authors, journals, institutions, and countries could provide reference for researchers who are fresh to the field in different ways. Researchers may also consider the emerging trends when deciding the direction of their study.

Neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) are neoplasms that can arise from the neuroendocrine cells distributed widely throughout the body. Majority of NETs overexpress somatostatin receptors (SSTR) on their cell surface. This biologic characteristic is exploited by SSTR-based imaging such as In octreotide scintigraphy and Ga DOTATATE positron emission tomography (PET)/computed tomography (CT), which are considered standard for initial evaluation of NETs. Although highly sensitive and specific, recent reports demonstrate a concerning incidence of "false-positive" physiologic uptake of these tracers in the pancreatic head - a common site of neuroendocrine tumor (NET) involvement. We present false positive uptake on Ga DOTATATE PET/CT along with false positive CT findings. Role of other imaging modalities is discussed. ⋯ Conspicuous physiological uptake has been reported in the pancreatic head on 16% to 70% of Ga DOTATATE or Ga DOTANOC PET/CT scans, and 26% of the In octreotide scintigraphy scans. Image-based quantitative attempts to distinguish physiologic from pathologic uptake using SUVmax have rendered mixed results. When evaluating SSTR-based imaging uptake in the pancreatic head, patients can benefit from a higher index of suspicion of false positive uptake. Such cases require additional confirmation by MRI or EUS. Interestingly, the patient described also had mild contrast enhancement on CT, but without an MRI correlate. Because of potential morbidity and mortality related to false positive uptake, a systematic review with evidence-based recommendations for imaging may benefit patient care.

Stomachache is not only disease name of Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) but also the clinical symptom. It is a common and multiple diseases. TCM has its particular advantage in clinical treatment of stomachache. ⋯ Finally, the differentiation performance of the 2 models was tested and analyzed. The testing results showed that the improved third-order convergence LM algorithm model has better average prediction and diagnosis accuracy, especially in predicting "liver-stomach disharmony" and "stomach yang deficiency", is above 95%. By effectively using the self-learning and auto-update ability of the BP neural network, the intelligent syndrome differentiation model of TCM can fully approach the real side of syndrome differentiation, and shows excellent predicted ability of syndrome differentiation.

True hermaphroditism is a rare and usually sporadic disorder. It is defined by the presence of both ovarian and testicular tissues together as ovotestis. ⋯ The positive expression of placental alkaline phosphatase and octamer-binding transcription factor 3/4 could be 2 diagnosis markers of dysgerminoma. Surgery combined with radiotherapy and chemotherapy could improve the prognosis of dysgerminoma. Moreover, hormone replacement therapy with conjugated estrogen and medroxyprogesterone acetate was very helpful to maintain the female characteristic of patients with true hermaphroditism.
