Primary malignant melanoma of the esophagus with multiple lymph node metastases: A case report and literature review.
Primary malignant melanoma of the esophagus (PMME) is a very rare malignancy accounting for only 0.1% to 0.2% of all malignant esophageal lesions. Presently, there are no standard strategies or clear guidelines for PMME treatment. ⋯ To our knowledge, this is the first report on the effect of LNMs on the prognosis of PMME patients. The analysis revealed the prognostic value of the TNM stage. Early tumor detection and esophagectomy with lymph node dissection may play as key factors for achieving a better overall survival of PMME patients.

The status and trends of coronavirus research: A global bibliometric and visualized analysis.
The infectious pneumonia caused by the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) occurred in Wuhan, Hubei Province, China, from December 2019 and spread the whole country and even other 24 countries. Coronavirus research is of significance to overcome the epidemic. Our study aims to investigate the global status and trends of coronavirus research. ⋯ The outbreak of the epidemic could promote coronavirus research, meanwhile, coronavirus research contributes to overcoming the epidemic. Attention should be drawn to the latest popular research, including "Spike protein," "Receptor binding domain," and "Vaccine." Therefore, more and more efforts will be put into mechanism research and vaccine research and development, which can be helpful to deal with the epidemic.

Recurrent eosinophilic pleuritis caused by sparganum infection: A case report and review of the literature.
Sparganosis is an infectious disease caused by a larval tapeworm of the genus Spirometra, which commonly invades subcutaneous tissues. Pulmonary and pleural involvement due to sparganum has been rarely reported previously. ⋯ Clinicians need to be aware the possibility of sparganum infection in cases of eosinophilic pleuritis. The specific enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay remains a useful method in acquiring a rapid diagnosis, especially when histological examination is unable to detect the larvae in the thoracic cavity.

Comparison of ropivacaine with ropivacaine and fentanyl in continuous epidural analgesia for postherpetic neuralgia: A STROBE-compliant retrospective study.
Continuous epidural analgesia (CEA) using local anesthetics is frequently used to control herpes zoster pain and prevent postherpetic neuralgia (PHN). However, few studies have been conducted to determine the efficacy of epidural drugs administered as CEA to manage PHN. This retrospective study was designed to evaluate the effectiveness of CEA with ropivacaine alone or with ropivacaine and fentanyl for controlling pain caused by PHN. ⋯ There was no difference in the management of pain in patients with PHN between the groups. Epidural administration of fentanyl with ropivacaine did not improve pain management when compared to ropivacaine alone. Although not statistically significant, the incidence of complications during CEA was higher in the opioid combination group.

Effects of compound Caoshi silkworm granules on stable COPD patients and their relationship with gut microbiota: A randomized controlled trial.
Patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) usually experience recurrent acute exacerbations. These patients, especially those with stable COPD, require an effective intervention for treating exacerbations. This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of Compound Caoshi silkworm granules (CCSGs) in stable COPD patients and to investigate their potential mechanism. ⋯ CCSGs have beneficial effects in the improvement of symptoms in stable COPD patients over a 3-month treatment period. The potential underlying mechanism may be attributable to the difference in gut microbiota among patients. However, more research is needed to confirm this conclusion.
