Meta Analysis
Mycophenolate mofetil in the treatment of Chinese patients with lupus nephritis: A PRISMA-compliant meta-analysis.
Mycophenolate mofetil (MMF) has been recommended for the treatment of lupus nephritis (LN). Although inter-racial differences exist regarding the appropriate dose and efficacy of MMF in patients with LN, no definitive meta-analysis has yet been conducted in Chinese patients. This analysis investigated the efficacy and safety of MMF in Chinese patients with proliferative LN. ⋯ According to this meta-analysis of 18 trials, MMF is significantly more effective than cyclophosphamide induction, and is associated with reduced incidences of infections, amenorrhea, leukopenia, and alopecia in Chinese patients with proliferative LN.

Neck pain, sensory disturbance and motor dysfunction in most patients suffered cervical spondylotic myelopathy (CSM). However, some conservative treatments are limited by their modest effectiveness. In the other hand, surgical treatment is necessary when symptoms are refractory to conservative treatments and neurological function of the patients has deteriorated. Many patients use complementary and alternative medicine, including traditional Chinese medicine, to address their symptoms. The purpose of the present study is to examine effectiveness and safety of Yiqi-Huayu-Tongsui (YQHYTS) granule, a compound traditional Chinese herbal medicine, on symptoms in patients with mild or moderate CSM. ⋯ YQHYTS granule has been established and applied in Longhua Hospital for many years. As it has a potential benefit in treating mild or moderate CSM, we designed a double-blind, prospective, randomized controlled trial and would like to publish the results and conclusions later. If YQHYTS granule can alleviate neck pain, sensory disturbance, and even motor dysfunction without adverse effects, it may be a unique strategy for the treatment of mild or moderate CSM.

Review Case Reports
Primary breast diffuse large B-cell lymphoma in a patient with systemic lupus erythematosus: A case report and review of the literature.
Pilot studies have reported that patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) appear more likely to develop into neoplasia, especially lymphatic hyperplasia diseases. To our knowledge, this is the first case report of the concomitant onset of SLE and primary breast diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (PB-DLBCL). ⋯ PB-DLBCL is a rare occurrence in SLE patients. Therefore, a careful examination is very important in SLE cohort, as activity of the disease and malignancy may mimic each other. Meanwhile, when symptoms cannot be explained or insensitive to treatment, the occurrence of malignant tumors must be highly considered.
