Multicenter Study Observational Study
Proportion of time spent in blood glucose range 70 to 140 mg/dL is associated with increased survival in patients admitted to ICU after cardiac arrest: A multicenter observational study.
The benefit of any specific target range of blood glucose (BG) for post-cardiac arrest (PCA) care remains unknown. We conducted a multicenter retrospective study of prospectively collected data of all cardiac arrest patients admitted to the ICUs between 2014 and 2015. The main exposure was BG metrics during the first 24 hours, including time-weighted mean (TWM) BG, mean BG, admission BG and proportion of time spent in 4 BG ranges (<= 70 mg/dL, 70-140 mg/dL, 140-180 mg/dL and > 180 mg/dL). ⋯ Results of the 3 kinds of statistical models were consistent. The proportion of time spent in BG range 70 to 140 mg/dL is strongly associated with increased hospital survival in PCA patients. Hyperglycemia (> 180 mg/dL) is common in PCA patients and is associated with increased hospital mortality.

Many postoperative patients and males suffer urinary retention (UR) symptom, which directly affects their quality of life. Acupuncture is widely used by Traditional Chinese Medicine doctors to treat various postoperative urinary retention and elderly male urinary retention patients. However, acupuncture treatment of urinary retention symptoms lacks relevant multi-center clinical studies and lacks a more comprehensive meta-analysis report, which contradicts clinical practice. To confirm the safety and efficacy of acupuncture treatment of urinary retention caused by various reasons requires more comprehensive and strong evidence-based medical evidence. ⋯ The research has been registered and approved on the PROSPERO website. The 2019 Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) pandemic has threatened millions of people worldwide. Growing evidence suggests that the ABO blood type contributed to the susceptibility of COVID-19, but the results are controversial. The major objective of this systematic review and meta-analysis study is to investigate the impact of ABO blood group on COVID-19 pneumonia. ⋯ CRD42020195615.

Migraine is a common neurological disease, which seriously affects the quality of life and daily activities of patients. Although migraine is a transient phenomenon of cerebral vasoconstriction, it is well documented that recurrent attacks of migraine may lead to abnormalities in retinal structure. Optical coherence tomography (OCT) is a sensitive method to detect subtle damage in retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL). There have been many studies investigating the difference in RNFL thickness with optical coherence tomography (OCT) between migraine patients and healthy controls. However, the results were not consistent. Our purpose is to perform a meta-analysis to investigate RNFL alterations in migraine. ⋯ INPLASY 202060033.
