Contrecoup injury of the prefronto-thalamic tract in a patient with mild traumatic brain injury: A case report.
We report on a patient with mild traumatic brain injury (TBI) with contrecoup injury of the prefronto-thalamic tract (PTT), as demonstrated by diffusion tensor tractography (DTT). ⋯ Injuries of the PTTs associated with a contrecoup brain injury were demonstrated in a patient with mild TBI.

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a malignant tumor with unsatisfactory prognosis. The abnormal genes expression is significantly associated with initiation and poor prognosis of HCC. The aim of the present study was to identify molecular biomarkers related to the initiation and development of HCC via bioinformatics analysis, so as to provide a certain molecular mechanism for individualized treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma. ⋯ Additionally, 17 candidate genes from these 3 modules were significantly correlated with HCC patient survival and 15 of 17 genes exhibited high expression level in HCC samples. Moreover, 4 hub genes (CCNB1, CDK1, RRM2, BUB1B) were identified for further reanalysis of KEGG pathway, and enriched in 2 pathways, the P53 signaling pathway and cell cycle pathway. Overexpression of CCNB1, CDK1, RRM2, and BUB1B in HCC samples was correlated with poor survival in HCC patients, which could be potential therapeutic targets for HCC.

A phase 3 double-blind randomized (CONSORT-compliant) study of azilsartan medoxomil compared to valsartan in Chinese patients with essential hypertension.
Azilsartan medoxomil (AZL-M), an angiotensin II receptor blocker, has a well-characterized efficacy and safety profile in patients with hypertension. AZL-M is approved for use in over 40 countries globally; however, it is not yet approved in China. Therefore, a phase 3 registration study to assess the efficacy (antihypertensive effect), safety, and tolerability of AZL-M compared with valsartan in Chinese patients with essential hypertension was undertaken. ⋯ AZL-M was noninferior to valsartan at the 40-mg dose and superior to valsartan at the 80-mg dose in reducing trough scSBP, and showed acceptable safety-consistent with the AZL-M safety profile in other populations-in Chinese adults with hypertension.

On March 11, 2020, World Health Organization announced that severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 caused COVID-19 was a global pandemic. COVID-19 is associated with venous thromboembolism including deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism. To further identify the current role of antiplatelet/anticoagulant therapy in the prophylaxis and treatment of COVID-19 patients is important. ⋯ CRD42020186928.

The efficacy and safety of pioglitazone in psoriasis vulgaris: A meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials.
Pioglitazone may have potential benefits in the treatment of cutaneous and metabolic derangements of psoriasis, but its role in the treatment of psoriasis remains in debate. We therefore conducted a meta-analysis to evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of pioglitazone in psoriasis vulgaris (PsV). We performed a comprehensive search in database of PubMed, Web of Science, Cochrane library, Embase and China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), and Wan fang database through March 2019 to identify eligible studies. ⋯ Compared with control group, pioglitazone was not related to a pronounced increase in total adverse events (RR 1.180, 95 CI 0.85-1.63, P = .33). Moreover, the risk of common adverse events in the 2 groups were similar, such as elevated liver enzyme, fatigue, nausea, weight gain. This meta-analysis suggested pioglitazone is an effective and safe drug in the treatment of patients with PsV.
