Impulsivity is a frequent non-motor symptom in Parkinson disease (PD). It comprises psycho-behavioral alterations that negatively impact quality of life. Dopaminergic treatments underpin many impulsive controls disorders however, side effects, such as increased impulsivity, are described also after neurosurgical procedure of deep brain stimulation (DBS). ⋯ Moreover, this impulsivity worse QoL and interpersonal relationships. The combination of Levodopa and dopamine agonists exerted a great impact on impulsivity behavior. The emergence of postoperative impulsivity seems to be a neurostimulator phenomenon related to the computational role of the subthalamic nucleus in modulation of behavior.

Job-related stress had adverse effects on both patients and community nurses. To evaluate stress, an effective and reliable instrument was needed. The aim of this study was to develop a short-form Chinese Community Nurse Stress Scale and examine its psychometric properties. ⋯ During exploratory factor analysis, 4 factors were selected, including management and interpersonal relationships (8 items), patient care (7 items), environment and resources of work (6 items), and career promotion (4 items), which explained 62.66% of all variance. Cronbachs α coefficient of the short-form CNSS was 0.94, and the cross-sample validity test supported the best fit model for this 25-item CNSS. The results in this study supported that the 25-item CNSS had a good reliability and validity when it was administrated to Chinese community nurses.

As surgeries are performed around the clock, the time of surgery might have an impact on outcomes. Our aim is to investigate the impact of daytime and nighttime shifts on surgeons and their performance. We believe that such studies are important to enhance the quality of surgeries and their outcomes and help understand the effects of time of the day on surgeons and the surgeries they perform. ⋯ The earlier comparison scored a P-value of >.99, suggesting that patients in morning and evening surgeries were twice more likely to experience complications than late-night surgeries. This study may support previous research that there is little difference in outcomes between daytime and nighttime surgeries. The popular belief that rested physicians are better physicians requires further assessment and research.

Esophageal cancer is a common malignant tumor of the digestive system with a high incidence and a poor prognosis. At the present, CT-based radiomics is providing more and more valuable information. However, the heterogeneity of the study and the poor repeatability of the texture feature parameters have limited its wider clinical application. ⋯ Run-length matrix (RLM) features in tumor group accounted for the highest proportion, only Surface Volume Ratio was different. There are differences in the texture features of the tube wall in different parts of the esophagus of healthy adults, and this difference is more obvious in pT3 stage esophageal squamous cell carcinoma. In the future radiomics study of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma, we need to pay attention to this to avoid affecting the accuracy of the results.

In this study, we evaluated the feasibility and efficacy of stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) in the treatment of Barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer (BCLC) stage C hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). This retrospective study evaluated 139 patients with BCLC stage C HCC who underwent CyberKnife SBRT between January 2009 and September 2017. All patients had BCLC-C, Child-Turcotte-Pugh score A-B. ⋯ The major pattern of failure was out-field intrahepatic failure which comprised 42.9% of patients. Multivariate analysis revealed that the Child-Turcotte-Pugh score, macrovascular invasion, advance stage (III-IV), and tumor response rate were independent predictors of OS. The result of our study shows that SBRT is a safe and effective therapeutic option for BCLC stage C HCC lesions that are unsuitable for standard loco-regional therapies, Moreover, SBRT has acceptable local control rates and low-treatment toxicity.
