Ultrasound-guided pulsed radiofrequency treatment for distal suprascapular neuropathy: A case report.
Suprascapular neuropathy is a rare cause of shoulder pain, and patients usually presents with posterosuperior shoulder pain and weakness on forward flexion and external rotation. Suprascapular neuropathy associated with rotator cuff pathology has received attention as an emerging cause of this condition. Suprascapular nerve (SSN) block can be used in these patients, and pulsed radio frequency (PRF) can be applied to achieve a long-term effect. Several studies have reported on PRF treatment of the SSN for shoulder pain, but most applied treatment to the nerve trunk under the transverse scapular ligament. This report describes a patient with suprascapular neuropathy treated with selective application of PRF to the distal SSN under ultrasound guidance. ⋯ PRF treatment of the SSN is typically approached from the main branch in the suprascapular notch. We selectively applied PRF to the distal SSN close to the SGN. This technique was safe and effective.

Enhanced immune reaction resulting from co-vaccination of WT1 helper peptide assessed on PET-CT.
It has become evident that positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET-CT) using 2-deoxy-2-[F-18]fluoro-D-glucose (FDG) (FDG PET-CT) can detect anti-tumor immune response induced by various immunotherapies. To evaluate whether FDG PET-CT could detect anti-cancer immune response caused by cancer vaccine therapy, we performed a retrospective analysis of FDG PET-CT imaging of patients who were treated with Wilms Tumor 1 (WT1) vaccine therapy in Osaka University during July 2008 and June 2018. Increased FDG uptakes were detected in WT1-vaccinated skin and their draining lymph nodes during the repeated vaccination. ⋯ Since it is evident that the combination vaccine can induce a more robust anti-tumor immunity than can CTL peptide vaccine alone, the FDG uptakes in WT1-vaccinated skin might reflect the degree of immune response. These results suggest that PET-CT might be a good tool for prediction of anti-tumor immune response induced by WT1 vaccine therapy. Larger scale prospective studies therefore seem to be warranted.

Lymph node metastasis is a significant problem in breast cancer, and its underlying molecular mechanism is still unclear. The purpose of this study is to research the molecular mechanism and to explore the key RNAs and pathways that mediate lymph node metastasis in breast cancer. ⋯ By utilizing bioinformatics analyses, differently expressed miRNAs were identified and constructed a complete gene network. Several potential mechanisms and therapeutic and prognostic targets of lymph node metastasis were also demonstrated in breast cancer.

Diagnosis of multiple pulmonary cavernous hemangiomas via dual-layer spectral CT: A case report.
Cavernous hemangioma is a benign vascular tumor, which very rarely occurs in the lung. When appearing as multiple nodules on chest CT, this tumor can be misdiagnosed as metastatic malignancy. ⋯ Material decomposition images obtained from dual energy CT can help physicians understand the character of tumor vascularity for an accurate diagnosis of pulmonary cavernous hemangioma.

Although bronchiectasis is conventionally considered a chronic pulmonary disease of adulthood, knowledge of pediatric bronchiectasis not related to cystic fibrosis started to emerge. Limited information in this field is available and the management is based on expert opinion. ⋯ Although bronchiectasisis are condition in childhood, the diagnosis is suspected in children with persistent wet or productive cough, and should be confirmed by a chest high-resolution computerized tomography scan. Antibiotics and airway clearance techniques represent the milestones of bronchiectasis management although there are only a few guidelines in children.
