The COVID 19 pandemic is far from over, and vaccines remain important tool for fighting the disease. As the preventive effects of the COVID-19 vaccine emerges, it is likely that the perception of importance and safety of vaccines have a positive effect on the acceptance of other vaccines. However, it is still unclear how COVID-19 pandemic has affected the general vaccination perception and acceptance. ⋯ Participants stated that accurate information and cost reduction about HPV vaccine was needed to increase the HPV vaccination rate. During the COVID-19 pandemic era, positive attitudes towards HPV vaccination have tended to increase. To increase the HPV vaccination rate, public efforts are needed for further information and cost reduction.

Whole exome sequencing combined with dynamic ultrasound assessments for fetal skeletal dysplasias: 4 case reports.
Fetal skeletal anomalies are one of the most common and potentially pathogenic developmental abnormalities detected by ultrasound screening. Any suspected fetal skeletal dysplasias often require further comprehensive evaluations. ⋯ Invasive prenatal diagnosis and dynamic assessments for the management of fetal skeletal dysplasias could contribute to revealing possible causes of fetal skeletal abnormalities and help clinicians conduct further genetic counseling in clinical practice.

Acute heart failure (AHF) is life-threatening medical condition requiring hospital admission and appropriate oxygen therapy. High flow nasal cannula oxygen therapy (HFNC) has gained its popularity in treatment of AHF, however, there were less studies have demonstrated the physiological efficacy of HFNC. Purpose of this study was to evaluated the physiological responses and clinical outcomes of HFNC by comparing with noninvasive positive pressure ventilation (NPPV) therapy. ⋯ Changes of left ventricular function parameters, ABG and clinical outcomes were all improved satisfactorily after 24 h medical interventions in both group, what's more, patients underwent HFNC therapy could acquire a better amelioration when compared with NPPV groups (P < .05). HFNC may be an ideal model for patients with AHF, particularly those with hypoxemia. HFNC therapy could significantly improve several objective parameters of physiological responses and clinical outcomes.

Type-2 diabetes is a chronic metabolic disorder characterized by hyperglycemia, resulting from deficits in insulin secretion or insulin resistance. According to the International Diabetes Federation, approximately 463 million people suffered from this condition in 2019, with a rapidly increasing impact in low-and middle-income countries. Obesity is a well-known risk factor for diabetes, and current data project a continuous increase in diabetes prevalence worldwide in obese individuals. ⋯ A major finding of this study is that impaired RDD was also found in 11/25 overweight and obese subjects in at least 2 stimulation frequencies, being 10 of those classified in prediabetic levels according to their HbA1C values. The RDD of the H-reflex could be used as a quantitative and sensitive tool to study T2DM subpopulations with peripheral neuropathy. RDD could be used as a screening tool in combination with clinical tests to diagnose DPN and evaluate the progression of this condition.

In patients with chronic hemodialysis (HD), both abnormal thrombotic and bleeding events are commonly observed. Uremic platelet dysfunction is one of the important attributing factors. Moreover, HD may also result in aggregation dysfunction of platelets during the therapeutic procedure. ⋯ Therefore, the use of low-flux dialyzers may further worsen platelet aggregation after dialysis. Patients with uremic bleeding diathesis should take precautions. We suggest that further studies using flow cytometry should be conducted to explore the mechanism of dialysis flux and platelet activity during HD.
