Gastric cancer (GC) is one of the most common cancers with high incidence and mortality worldwide. Recently, RNA-binding proteins (RBPs) have drawn more and more attention for its role in cancer pathophysiology. However, the function and clinical implication of RBPs in GC have not been fully elucidated. ⋯ Similar results were obtained from another independent set GSE62254, confirming the robustness of signature. Besides, the genetic variation and immune heterogeneity differences were identified between the high-risk and low-risk groups by bioinformatics methods. These findings would provide evidence of the effect of RBPs and offer a novel potential biomarker in prognostic prediction and clinical decision for GC.

The constitutive centromere associated network (CCAN) complex played a critical role in connecting the centromere with the mitotic spindle during mitosis and meiosis. Many studies have indicated that CCAN is related to the tumorigenesis and cancer development. Nonetheless, the overview of CCAN gene family in pan-cancer remain incompletely understood. ⋯ This multidimensional study provides a valuable resource to assist mechanism research and clinical utility about CCAN.

Studies have reported that changes in the abundance of gut microbiota may explain the medically helpful responses towards traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), an essential part of alternative and complementary medicine, in treating chronic kidney disease (CKD). This study aimed to illuminate the changes in the abundance of gut microbiota of TCM with CKD. ⋯ INPLASY2021100118.

The Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, caused by the severe acute respiratory syndrome-coronavirus-2, has claimed 5,587,549 lives worldwide as of January 20, 2022. Fortunately, large-scale vaccination can mitigate the impact of COVID-19 by making the disease milder and less common. Although 75.2% of the United States population has received at least 1 dose of a COVID-19 vaccines thus far, concerns regarding vaccine side effects have contributed to vaccine hesitancy. ⋯ Our statistically significant finding was more common among Asians, women, trainees/house staff, and nonphysician clinical employees. With an increasing number of individuals taking the vaccine, employers will need to account for the impact of adverse effects on their employees' ability to work. These findings will further help organizations better plan for staffing as vaccinations increase to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.

Review Meta Analysis
Integrative treatment of herbal medicine with western medicine on coronary artery lesions in children with Kawasaki disease.
Kawasaki disease (KD) is a major cause of coronary artery lesions (CALs) in children. Approximately 10% to 20% of children treated with intravenous immunoglobulin are intravenous immunoglobulin-resistant. This study evaluated the efficacy and safety of adding herbal medicine to conventional western medicines versus conventional western medicines alone for CALs in children with KD. ⋯ This review found the integrative treatment to be more effective in reducing the CAL prevalence rate and increasing the CAL recovery rate and total effective rate in KD patients than conventional western treatment. However, additional well-designed RCTs will be needed further to compensate restrictions of insufficient trials on safety, methodological quality, and publication bias.
