Idiopathic membranous nephropathy (IMN) is one of the leading causes of nephrotic syndrome in adults. We performed a protocol for systematic review and meta-analysis to compare the efficacy and safety of cyclophosphamide (CTX) with calcineurin inhibitors (CNIs) in the treatment of IMN. ⋯ 10.17605/OSF.IO/G584K.

Spontaneous complete uterine rupture during gestation is rare and has no specific symptoms; however, it is a life-threatening event for both the fetus and mother. The rupture typically happens in labor and is uncommon before labor. Herein, we present the case of a woman, encountering complete rupture at third trimester followed by laparoscopic cornuostomy. ⋯ Pregnancy after laparoscopic cornuostomy should be treated as high-risk gestation and the rupture during gestation of the uterine scar should be suspected once lower abdominal pain occurred. Swift diagnosis and prompt intervention play a crucial role in saving the lives of the fetus and the mother.

Do synbiotics really enhance beneficial synbiotics effect on defecation symptoms in healthy adults?: Randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial.
We examined whether synbiotics enhance improvement by probiotics. ⋯ The probiotic strain Bifidobacterium longum NT can improve constipation symptoms, especially stool condition, but it does not increase bowel movement frequency in healthy adults with constipation tendency. Synbiotics treatment seemed to diminish this improvement of constipation induced by probiotics. This study indicates the possibility of attenuation of beneficial effects from probiotics by the use of synbiotics, contrary to synbiotics theory.

Osteoarthritis of the knee is one of the major disorders leading to social dysfunction, economic loss and social development. This study was conducted to systematically evaluate the efficacy and safety effectiveness of acupuncture inactivation of myofascial pain trigger points in the treatment of osteoarthritis of the knee. ⋯ The efficacy and safety of acupuncturing myofascial pain trigger points in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis is positive, but due to the limited number of literature included in this study and the low quality of the included literature, there is still a need for high-quality and large sample size RCTs for the analysis of this treatment option.

Background: This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to assess whether tricuspid annular plane systolic excursion (TAPSE) could be used as a prognostic tool in patients with coronavirus disease 19 (COVID-19). ⋯ Low TAPSE levels are associated with poor COVID-19 disease outcomes. TAPSE levels are modulated by disease severity, and their prognostic utility may be skewed by pre-existing patient comorbidities.
