Mantle cell lymphoma presenting with severe upper gastrointestinal bleeding: A case report.
Although it usually involves extranodal sites such as the gastrointestinal tract in more than 80% of cases, mantle cell lymphoma is considered a rare cause of gastrointestinal bleeding, especially severe and life-threatening bleeding. ⋯ Mantle cell lymphoma should be kept in mind when assessing massive upper GI bleeding, as an unusual cause of bleeding gastric ulcer, given that bleeding is an uncommon presenting feature of GI lymphoma.

To provide a basis for treating postherpetic neuralgia (PHN), we compared the efficacy of lidocaine and ropivacaine stellate ganglion block (SGB) in PHN treatment in the upper limbs. Data from 252 patients with upper-limb PHN were retrospectively analyzed. The lidocaine group (n = 118) was treated with oral pregabalin capsules 75 mg twice a day, tramadol hydrochloride sustained release tablets 100 mg twice a day, and amitriptyline 25 mg once at night combined with ultrasound-guided lidocaine SGB; the ropivacaine group (n = 134) was orally administered the same medicines combined with ultrasound-guided ropivacaine SGB. ⋯ There were no significant differences between the groups in terms of adverse reactions (P > .05). For ultrasound-guided SGB treatment of upper limb PHN, ropivacaine is superior to lidocaine. Ultrasound-guided ropivacaine SGB is safe and effective for the treatment of upper limb PHN.

The aim of this study was to analyze published papers on the use of herbal medicine in obesity research over the past 20 years using bibliometric methods and present an overview of global research trends. ⋯ This study presents an overview of the global research trend of herbal medicine for obesity from the bibliographic analysis. An increased understanding of the recently changing research topics provides a new perspective on future research directions. This study may help guide the research in the field of obesity in the future.

For locally advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), the neoadjuvant therapy strategy of preoperative nivolumab combined with chemotherapy has great potential, especially for locally advanced NSCLC which are initially unresectable. They may be cured after neoadjuvant immunotherapy, and this may become a new direction of treatment. We hope that this representative medical record and literature review can provide some assistance for clinicians using immune checkpoint inhibitors to treat lung cancer. ⋯ In this case, combined with the wishes of the patient and the latest research results, we confirmed pCR by radical surgery after 3 rounds of the neoadjuvant nivolumab therapy combined with chemotherapy. This may be a modality to cure more lung cancer patients in the future.

There are variable complications of hyperthyroidism, including atrial fibrillation, heart failure, osteoporosis, and thyroid storm. One infrequent complication of hyperthyroidism is non-diabetic ketoacidosis (NDKA). To the best of our knowledge, our case is the third report of NDKA related to thyrotoxicosis. ⋯ Despite its rarity, NDKA can be associated with severe thyrotoxicosis. Vigorous intravenous hydration and anti-thyroid medication are the mainstay treatment. TFT should be requested in a patient with unexplained NDKA.
