The main purpose of this study was to build a prediction model for male breast cancer (MBC) patients to predict the possibility of distant metastasis. The Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results database was used to obtain data on patients with MBC. The patients were divided into a training set and a validation set at a ratio of 7:3. ⋯ The area under the curve values for the nomogram established in the training set and validation set were 0.8224 (95%CI: 0.7796-0.8652) and 0.8631 (95%CI: 0.7937-0.9326), suggesting that the nomogram had good predictive power. The calibration plots illustrated an acceptable correlation between the prediction by nomogram and the actual observation, as the calibration curve was closed to the diagonal bisector line. An easy-to-use nomogram, being proven to be with reliable discrimination ability and accuracy, was established to predict distant metastasis for male patients with breast cancer using the easily available risk factors.

A diagnosis by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is often necessary before surgery of degenerative spine diseases. This can lead to a possible conflict with an inserted implant of the hip or knee. Heat generation or movement could be caused by the magnetic field. The aim of this study is to investigate temperature development in vitro in a 1.5T MRI of a ceramic knee arthroplasty. ⋯ The experimental investigations carried out here showed homogeneous results with this experimental setup. It is concluded that, at least in vitro, that this ceramic knee implant can be used in MRI examinations without heating or movement.

PLK1 as one novel target for the poor prognosis of bladder cancer: An observational study.
Bladder cancer (BC) is one of the most common male malignant tumors and the most common urological tumor. However, the molecular mechanism and role of PLK1 on bladder cancer were unclear. Therefore, the study aims to explore the potential part of the overall survival of bladder cancer through bioinformatics analysis. ⋯ Overall survival analysis showed that BC patients with high expression level of PLK1 had poorer overall survival times than those with low expression level (P < .05). The expression levels of CDK1, TTK, AURKB, MELK, and BUB1 was not related to the overall survival of BC patients (P > .05). The PLK1 gene might provide new ideas and evidence for bladder cancer research.

Lipoleiomyoma is a rare neoplasm of the uterus. It is considered a variant of uterine myomas. Its reported incidence varies from 0.03% to 0.2%. Lipoleiomyoma consists of variable proportions of mature lipocytes and smooth muscle cells. These tumors generally occur in asymptomatic obese perimenopausal or postmenopausal women. About 90.7% of lipoleiomyomas arise from the uterine corpus, with only 6.5% arising from the cervix. When it occurs in the cervix, it is difficult to diagnose and treat it. We report an uncommon case of pelviscopic resection of uterine cervical lipoleiomyoma showing continuous growth after menopause. ⋯ Although lipoleiomyomas mainly occur in postmenopausal women, they can also occur in the uterine cervix. They can increase in size after menopause. They can be removed laparoscopically. If a hyperechoic mass occurred in the uterus after menopause that keeps growing without symptoms, a differential diagnosis of lipoleiomyomas must be performed.

Cases with organ-specific and systemic vasculitis associated with corona virus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccination have been reported. However, acute partial transverse myelitis (APTM) is rare adverse events following received COVID-19 vaccines. To the best of our knowledge, there is no report on vaccine-associated APTM accompanied by possible concurrent vasculitis. Herein we present a case with possible concurrent spinal vasculitis and APTM following the second dose of inactivated COVID-19 vaccine. ⋯ this case illustrates the concurrence of possible vasculitis in vertebral bodies and acute transverse myelitis (ATM) following COVID-19 vaccination.
