Based on network pharmacology and molecular docking, this study seeks to investigate the mechanism of Taohong Siwu decoction (THSWD) in the treatment of avascular necrosis of the femoral head (AVNFH). The Traditional Chinese Medicine Systems Pharmacology database was used in this investigation to obtain the active ingredients and related targets for each pharmaceutical constituent in THSWD. To find disease-related targets, the terms "avascular necrosis of the femoral head," "necrosis of the femoral head," "steroid-induced necrosis of the femoral head," "osteonecrosis," and "avascular necrosis of the bone" were searched in the databases DisGeNET, GeneCards, Comparative Toxicogenomics Database, and MalaCards. ⋯ According to the findings of enrichment analysis, THSWD cured AVNFH by regulating angiogenesis, cellular hypoxia, inflammation, senescence, apoptosis, cytokines, and cellular proliferation through the aforementioned targets and signaling pathways. The primary component of THSWD exhibits a strong binding force with the key protein of AVNFH. This study sheds new light on the biological mechanism of THSWD in treating AVNFH by revealing the multi-component, multi-target, and multi-pathway features and molecular docking mechanism of THSWD.

This study aimed to investigate the status and the needs of personnel training in pharmacy intravenous admixture service (PIVAS) and provide a reference for the comprehensive training of pharmacists in PIVAS in China. A total of 21 pharmacists from PIVAS of West China Hospital, Sichuan University and West China Second University Hospital, Sichuan University were selected by purposive sampling to conduct 3 rounds of focus group interviews, and the Colaizzi phenomenological method was used for qualitative analysis. ⋯ The needs of staff focus on career development, which was settled through improving comprehensive ability in training, especially scientific research ability, for solving problems in daily work and obtaining corresponding outputs. PIVAS personnel training should pay more attention to comprehensive quality and scientific research ability, and establish an individualized, refined, and specialized training system to meet the needs of talent development and improve the quality of pharmacy services.

Using the skin of the lateral malleolus region for reconstruction of smaller areas of the palm may yield better outcomes than using the skin of the groin region. However, no previous study has provided long-term data comparing the groin and lateral malleolus regions as donor sites for full-thickness skin grafts (FTSGs) in palmar reconstruction. Therefore, this study aimed to compare the groin and lateral malleolus regions as donor sites for FTSGs in palmar reconstruction over a long-term follow-up period. ⋯ Compared to the groin region group, the lateral malleolus region group showed skin colors that were closer to the original color of the palm in terms of lightness and red/green values. Additionally, the lateral malleolus region group received better esthetic ratings in the POSAS. Our results revealed that using the lateral malleolus region for FTSGs in palmar reconstruction resulted in better outcomes than using the groin region, even over a long period.

Advanced and metastatic THCA patients usually have a poor prognosis. Thus, this study aimed to establish a risk model to discriminate the high risk population. The expression and clinical data were obtained from TCGA database. ⋯ These gene expressions were affected by some clinical characteristics, methylation and CNV. Some signatures played a role in drug sensitivity and pathway activation. We constructed a 7-gene signature model based on the integrin-related genes, which showed a great prognostic value in THCA.

The purpose of this study is to verify whether early stage patients with single-segment lumbar Brucella spondylitis can still be cured through simple posterior fixation and bone grafting, even without debridement. A retrospective study was conducted on 63 patients diagnosed with single-segment lumbar brucellosis spondylitis, who underwent posterior-only debridement (or not), bone grafting, and instrumentation from June 2016 to June 2019. Group A comprised 34 patients who did not undergo debridement, while group B comprised 29 patients who underwent debridement. ⋯ The bone fusion rate was 92% (31 patients) in group A and 96% (28 patients) in group B, with no significant difference between the 2 groups (P > .05). In summary, these findings suggest that posterior fixation and bone graft fusion are effective treatments for single-segment lumbar brucellosis spondylitis in early stages even without debridement. Importantly, these procedures offer several benefits, such as minimal trauma, short operation times, rapid postoperative recovery, and favorable bone graft fusion outcomes.
