Acupuncture role in stroke treatment and post-stroke rehabilitation has garnered significant attention. However, there is a noticeable gap in bibliometric studies on this topic. Additionally, the precision and comprehensive methodology of cluster analysis remain underexplored. This research sought to introduce an innovative cluster analysis technique (called follower-leading clustering algorithm, FLCA) to evaluate global publications and trends related to acupuncture for stroke in the recent decade. ⋯ Acupuncture for stroke presents a vast research avenue. It is imperative for scholars from various global regions and institutions to transcend academic boundaries to foster dialogue and cooperation. For forthcoming bibliometric investigations, the application of the FLCA algorithm for cluster analysis is advocated.

Anesthetic management for emergency cesarean section in a patient with status epilepticus: A case report.
The presence of clinically significant repeated maternal epilepsies during pregnancy increases the risk of adverse maternal, fetal and neonatal outcomes. However, there are few guidelines for anesthesiologists to deal with this situation. ⋯ Providing anesthesia to patients undergoing cesarean section poses major challenges for anesthesiologists. Close monitoring and proper treatment can help reduce risks for both the mother and baby.

The brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) findings seen in patients with Bell palsy are abnormal contrast enhancement of affected facial nerves. Previous studies were conducted on a few patients, mainly those who had experienced palsy for several weeks. This study investigated the diagnostic usefulness of MRI by examining MRI findings of acute Bell palsy (within 7 days of symptom onset) in a large cohort. ⋯ Of the 110 patients with abnormal findings, 65 (59%) showed contrast enhancement in the labyrinthine segment and 36 (33%) in both the labyrinthine segment and geniculate ganglion. Most patients with Bell palsy who are in the acute phase showed abnormal contrast enhancement in their facial nerves, and similar findings were even observed in the examination conducted on the day of symptom onset. Brain MRI helps in the diagnosis of acute Bell palsy.

The aim of this study is to compare the clinical outcomes and accuracy of robot-assisted (RA) versus fluoroscopy-guided (FG) pedicle screw fixation of thoracolumbar compression fractures. We retrospectively enrolled 85 patients with surgically treated thoracolumbar compression fractures in our study (RA group, 45 patients; FG group, 40 patients). We analyzed the accuracy of pedicle screw placement by using the Gertzbein-Robbins classification, and calculated the one-time success rate (i.e., the rate of screws successfully inserted in the first attempt). ⋯ The rates of grade A screw placement (96% vs 68.5%; P < .005), clinically acceptable screw placement (98.2% vs 86%; P < .005), and the one-time success rate (97.3% vs 82.5%; P < .005) were all significantly higher in the RA group than in the FG group. No differences were observed in sex, age, body mass index, volume of blood loss, operative time, visual analogue scale scores, Cobb angle, and postoperative complications between the 2 groups. Compared to FG surgery, RA surgery yielded greater accuracy and one-time success rates of pedicle screw fixation of thoracolumbar compression fractures, with comparable clinical outcomes.

The aim was to construct and verify a nomogram-based assessment of cancer-specific survival (CSS) in patients with colorectal signet ring cell carcinoma after surgery. Patients were collected from Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results program between 2004 and 2015. Independent prognostic indicators were determined in the training cohort by Cox regression model. ⋯ The time-independent area under the curves for 3-year and 5-year CSS in the nomogram were larger than American Joint Committee on Cancer and Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results summary stage system. Moreover, decision curve analysis indicated the clinical utility of the nomogram. The nomogram demonstrated favorable predictive accuracy of survival in colorectal signet ring cell carcinoma patients after surgery, which should be further confirmed before clinical implementation.
