Corneal pregnancy is rare and difficult to detect in the early stages. Due to the abundant blood supply in this area, a rupture can result in massive internal bleeding, shock, and even death. Therefore, immediate surgery is necessary, and patients must replenish their blood volume as soon as possible to ensure blood supply to important organs. For those whose blood pressure cannot immediately rise, surgery should be performed while resisting shock to buy time. ⋯ The early diagnosis of cornual pregnancy is mainly based on ultrasound. However, there is a high incidence of missed diagnosis and misdiagnosis of this disease. Patients may face serious and life-threatening conditions in case of the rupture of cornual pregnancy. This disease can be mainly treated by surgery.

Patient prognosis and prediction model for taking Kampo formulas in dysmenorrhea: An observational study.
Two representative Kampo formulas, keishibukuryogan and tokishakuyakusan, are frequently prescribed for patients with dysmenorrhea. We previously constructed a model that could predict which of these 2 formulas was most suitable, which is based on 4 subjective symptoms and 3 objective signs. To evaluate the prognosis of patients with dysmenorrhea using the established prediction model and assess the treatment outcomes between those treated in accordance with the prediction model and those who received various other treatments. ⋯ There were no significant differences in the occurrence of adverse events between the 2 groups. The prognosis of patients with dysmenorrhea and the incidence of adverse events remained consistent, regardless of whether the treatment approach was in accordance with the prediction model or varied. Further studies are warranted to assess the prognosis when Kampo formulas are chosen based on the prediction model in the various-options population.

To investigate the diagnostic value of a novel high-sensitivity urine lipoarabinomannan (LAM) test (chemiluminescence-based) for active tuberculosis in the general population. A retrospective study was conducted on 250 clinical suspected tuberculosis patients who were HIV-negative and visited the Fourth People's Hospital of Foshan from January 2022 to December 2022. Among them, there were 135 cases of pulmonary tuberculosis, 34 cases of extrapulmonary tuberculosis, and 81 cases of non-tuberculosis. ⋯ The high-sensitivity urine LAM test holds promise for tuberculosis diagnosis in the general population. It demonstrates high-sensitivity, enabling the detection of sputum culture-negative pulmonary tuberculosis patients. Furthermore, when combined with existing methods, it can enhance the overall detection rate.

To investigate the correlation between central arterial pressure (CAP) parameters and the severity of atherosclerotic lesions in the coronary arteries, understand the value of CAP in assessing the risk of coronary heart disease (CHD), and provide a theoretical basis for the prevention and treatment of CHD. Between January 2021 and January 2022, 224 patients admitted to our hospital for complete coronary angiography (CAG) were included in this retrospective study. CAP parameters, including central systolic pressure (CSP), diastolic pressure (CDP), and pulse pressure (CPP), and Gensini scores were collected; the association between CAP parameters and the severity of coronary lesions was analyzed using the Pearson correlation coefficient (r) and multivariate regression analysis. ⋯ CSP, CDP, and CPP were significantly higher in the high Gensini score group than in the low Gensini score group for coronary vascular lesions; furthermore, CSP and CPP were significantly higher in the high Gensini score group than in the medium Gensini score group (P < .05). Pearson correlation analysis showed that CSP and CPP were positively and CDP was negatively correlated with the severity of coronary artery lesions in patients with CHD (P < .05). Logistic regression analysis showed that a history of diabetes, CSP, CDP, and CPP were independent risk factors for severe atherosclerotic lesions in the coronary arteries (P < .05). noninvasive CAP-related indices, such as CSP, CDP, and CPP, are independently correlated with and can be used to predict the severity of coronary lesions in patients with CHD, which may be beneficial for guiding clinical diagnosis and treatment.

Platelet-rich gel versus external tissue expansion technique in treating scalp defects: A retrospective study.
Reconstruction of scalp defects is a complicated and challenging procedure for reconstructive surgeons. This retrospective observational study assessed the effectiveness of using platelet-rich gel (PRG) versus the external tissue expansion technique (TET) in reconstructing scalp defects. The clinical data of 24 patients with scalp defects treated with PRG or external TET were collected from September 2018 to March 2022. ⋯ The 2 groups showed no tissue depression or color change after wound healing at follow-up, but the hair growth in the TET group was significantly better than that in the PRG group (P < .05). Compared with TET treatment of scalp defects, PRG is not only simple and painless but also has a low treatment cost and, more importantly, does not involve the risk of surgery and anesthesia. However, using TET to treat scalp defects requires the careful selection of appropriate cases.
