Owing to the anatomical characteristics of the duodenum, gastroduodenal artery (GDA) pseudoaneurysms can be caused by duodenal ulcers, which may rupture and lead to massive or repeated bleeding. Pseudoaneurysms are usually diagnosed using enhanced computerized tomography or angiography, whereas endoscopic signs have rarely been reported. ⋯ The pulsation of visible vessels or adherent clots observed during endoscopy in patients with duodenal ulcer may indicate the formation of a gastroduodenal artery pseudoaneurysm. Therefore, we suggest that such patients receive enhanced computerized tomography or angiography to assess whether they need timely endovascular intervention treatment to avoid bleeding caused by a pseudoaneurysm.

This study retrospectively investigated the reasons for failure to dry the ear after primary radical mastoidectomy for chronic otitis media. In this retrospective study, we analyzed the main causes of dry ear failure in 43 patients (46 ears) who underwent radical mastoidectomy. We found that inadequate exposure of the mastoid cavity, incomplete removal of pathological tissues, and poor drainage of the surgical cavity were the main reasons for failure of radical mastoidectomy. ⋯ Revision surgery based on preoperative temporal bone computed tomography and intraoperative surgical findings could achieve dry ear in 100% of cases and no complications were observed. In patients who underwent tympanoplasty, there was a significant postoperative decrease in the decibel hearing level for the air conduction threshold and air-bone gap ( P < .05). Based on the reasons for failure, the corresponding treatment was undertaken to achieve dry ears during revision surgery.

Multiple system atrophy (MSA) is a fatal neurodegenerative disease, it causes functional degradation of multiple organs and systems throughout the body. Astragalus membranaceus (AM), a well-known traditional Chinese medicine, has been used to improve muscle wasting-related disorders for a long history. In this study, we used network pharmacology and molecular docking to predict the mechanism underlying AM for the treatment of MSA. ⋯ Molecular functions are mainly associated with apoptosis, inflammation, and tumorigenesis. Molecular docking results show good and standard binding abilities. This study illustrates that AM treats MSA through multiple targets and pathways, and provides a reference for subsequent research.

Abdominal infection combined with pneumoperitoneum after renal transplantation: A case report.
Abdominal infection combined with pneumoperitoneum after renal transplantation is rare, clinically confusing, and easily misdiagnosed by physicians as gastrointestinal perforation. ⋯ Patients after kidney transplantation should be wary of abdominal infection being misdiagnosed as gastrointestinal perforation.

Atherosclerotic chronic mesenteric ischemia (CMI) is caused by stenosis or occlusion of mesenteric arteries and can progress to potentially life-threatening acute mesenteric ischemia if left untreated. However, correct diagnosis and timely treatment remain a challenge due to a lack of awareness, variable symptoms, and inconclusive diagnostic testing. ⋯ This is the first case of CMI with EGD finding of a gastric double-stripe sign specific for gastric ischemia. This case highlights the clinical importance of this endoscopic finding in patients with suspected atherosclerotic CMI.
