Although molecular biology has made great progress in recent years, the detection rate of mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB) is still not ideal. This study aimed to evaluate the role of prognostic inflammatory index (PII) and systemic inflammatory response index (SIRI) in the auxiliary diagnosis of bacteria-negative pulmonary tuberculosis (TB). Sixty patients diagnosed with bacteria-negative pulmonary TB at the Affiliated Hospital of Qinghai University between October 2019 and September 2022 were randomly selected as the case group, and seventy patients with nontuberculous pulmonary infection in the same department of the same hospital during the same period were randomly selected as the control group. ⋯ ROC curve analysis showed that area under curve (AUC) value {0.84 [95% CI (0.77, 0.90)]} and specificity {82.86% [95% CI (72.0, 90.8)]} of PII were the highest, while the sensitivity {86.67 [95% CI (75.4, 94.1)]} of NLR + PII was the highest. Pairwise comparison of the 7 indicators of ROC curve was performed, and only the diagnostic efficiency of NLR and NLR + PII was statistically significant (Z = 2.36, P = .02 < .05). NLR, PII, SIRI, pairwise combinations, and NLR + PII + SIRI showed auxiliary diagnostic values for bacteria-negative pulmonary TB, among which PII had the highest diagnostic value and specificity, while NLR + PII had the highest sensitivity.

The etiology of adolescent myopia involves genetic and environmental factors. The pathological mechanism of modern medicine includes blood perfusion, changes in blood molecules, neurotransmitters, and sclera remodeling. Chinese medicine believes that myopia is mainly related to the deficiency of liver blood and spleen and stomach disorders. ⋯ Intestinal flora has become a research hotspot in recent years, and it has been found that it is closely associated with multi-system and multi-type diseases. No studies have directly investigated the link between Intestinal flora and myopia in adolescents. Therefore, by summarizing the pathological mechanism of adolescent myopia and the connection between intestinal flora and the pathological mechanism of adolescent myopia, this paper analyzes the possible pathological mechanism of the influence of intestinal flora on adolescent myopia, providing a theoretical basis for future studies on the correlation between changes of intestinal flora and its metabolites and the incidence of adolescent myopia, which is of great significance for the study on the risk prediction of adolescent myopia.

The effect of training using an upper limb rehabilitation robot (HEXO-UR30A) in chronic stroke patients: A randomized controlled trial.
Upper limb robotic rehabilitation can be beneficial to the patients when applied appropriately. HEXO-UR30A is a novel exoskeletal type upper limb rehabilitation robot that provides continuous passive motion to the shoulder joint. ⋯ These results show that HEXO-UR30A can improve functional ability in chronic stroke patients. Moreover, the high satisfaction in patients might promote active involvement in upper limb rehabilitation.

Salivary gland tumors account for approximately 3% of all tumors, most of which are benign, with pleomorphic adenomas being the most common, occurring mostly in middle-aged women, mostly originating from the major salivary glands and, to a lesser extent, from the minor salivary glands, with the tongue being a very rare site of occurrence. To date, case reports of pleomorphic adenoma at the root of the tongue are also rare. ⋯ It is very rare to find a pleomorphic adenoma of the tongue, and it occurs mostly in middle-aged women. In clinical diagnosis, it is sometimes difficult to distinguish it from malignant tumor of the tongue.

To evaluate the effects of various patient characteristics on vessel enhancement on arterio-venous fistula (AVF) computed tomography (CT) angiography (AVF-CT angiography). A total of 127 patients with suspected or confirmed shunt stenosis and internal AVF complications were considered for inclusion in a retrospective cohort study. The tube voltage was 120 kVp, and the tube current was changed from 300 to 770 mA to maintain the image quality (noise index: 14) using automatic tube current modulation. ⋯ There was a significant correlation between the CT number of the brachial artery or vein and scan delay (R = 0.19 or 01.9, P < .01). Only the BSA had significant effects on the CT number in multivariate regression analysis (P < .01). The BSA was significantly correlated with the CT number of the brachial artery or vein on AVF-CT angiography.
