Infectious thrombosis of the superior sagittal sinus with subarachnoid hemorrhage: A case report.
Cerebral venous sinus thrombosis (CVST) represents 0.5% to 1% of all strokes. CVST can cause headaches, epilepsy, and subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH). CVST is easily misdiagnosed because of the variety and non-specificity of symptoms. Herein, we report a case of infectious thrombosis of the superior sagittal sinus with SAH. ⋯ We describe a case of infectious thrombosis of the superior sagittal sinus manifested as SAH, which is easily misdiagnosed, especially when patients present with an infection. Clinicians must therefore take care during the diagnosis and selection of the treatment strategy.

Sit-to-stand (STS) is considered the most common functional activities in daily life and the basis for other activities. The elderly and patients with lower limb disorders could not complete the STS motion very well due to limb pain and muscle weakness. Physiotherapist find that specific STS transfer strategies can make patients more easily to complete this task. ⋯ The larger the IFA, the smaller the plantar pressure parameter. When the IFA is 15°, the COG is close to the center of limits of stability, which can provide a better stability. This paper summarizes the influence under 4 different experimental conditions of IFAs on STS transfer, so as to provide a starting point and bases for clinicians to develop rehabilitation training protocols and STS motion strategies for patient.

The outbreak of novel coronavirus pneumonia in Wuhan, Hubei Province, in 2019 and its rapid spread across the country caused severe public panic in China. The purpose of this study was to investigate the mental health problems of children's chaperones at the emergency clinic during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) outbreak and to analyze the related influencing factors. A total of 260 chaperones for children in the emergency department participated in this cross-sectional study through the questionnaire constellation platform. ⋯ Our findings suggest that mental health problems were prevalent among family members accompanying children attending the emergency department during the COVID-19 outbreak, with a high prevalence of sleep disturbances in particular. Relevant factors included presence or absence in Wuhan during the outbreak closure, gender, work or absence, and fear of hospital visits. There is a need to focus on the mental health distress of the chaperones for children in the emergency department, and to provide timely intervention and diversion.

Adrenaline auto-injectors are the first line treatment for anaphylaxis in the community setting. Both anaphylaxis and auto-injector carriage are increasing in prevalence. Adrenaline auto-injector injuries are common and most often involve the hand or digits. ⋯ There is relatively poor clinician knowledge surrounding adrenaline reversal and a lack of easily accessible information available about dosing and drug location within the hospital. Given the time dependent nature of adrenaline auto-injector injuries Emergency Departments should consider stocking phentolamine in an emergency drugs fridge within the department along with a dosing guide. This is likely to greatly reduce time from presentation to treatment and thus the chances of digital ischemia progressing to necrosis.

The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) outbreak became the worst epidemic in decades. Since its inception, COVID-19 has had a dramatic impact on chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) patients. This study explores explore the current status, hot spots, and research frontiers of COVID-19 and COPD based on a bibliometric approach. ⋯ The journals with the most publications are PLOS ONE, JOURNAL OF CLINICAL MEDICINE, and FRONTIERS IN MEDICINE. The main research hotspots in this field are clinical features, disease management, and mechanism research. By constructing COPD and COVID-19 research network diagrams, we reveal the hot spots, frontiers, and development trends of relevant research fields, which provide a reference for subsequent researchers to quickly grasp the current status of related research fields.
