Hepatocellular carcinoma (LIHC) is a malignant tumor arising from hepatocytes or intrahepatic bile duct epithelial cells, which is one of the common malignancies worldwide. Better identification of liver cancer biomarkers has become one of the current challenges. Although hypoxia inducible lipid droplet associated (HILPDA) has been reported to be associated with tumor progression in a variety of human solid cancers, it has rarely been reported in the field of hepatocellular carcinoma; therefore, in this paper, RNA sequencing data from TCGA were used to analyze the expression of HILPDA and differentially expressed genes (DEGs). ⋯ Cox regression analysis showed high HILPDA to be an independent prognostic factor; age and cytogenetic risk were included in the nomogram prognostic model. A total of 1294 DEGs were identified between the high and low expression groups, of which 1169 had upregulated gene expression and 125 had downregulated gene expression. Overall, high expression of HILPDA is a potential biomarker for poor outcome in LIHC.

Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tears are frequent ligamentous injuries that necessitate reconstruction in many cases. The patellar tendon and the hamstring tendon are the most frequently utilized autografts for reconstruction. However, both have certain disadvantages. ⋯ However, 6 cases of superficial wound infection were observed, 4 at the port site and 2 at the donor site. All resolved after appropriate oral antibiotic therapy. The peroneus longus tendon can be considered a safe, effective, and promising graft of choice for arthroscopic primary single-bundle ACL reconstruction because it has a good functional outcome and impressive donor ankle function after surgery.

To analyze the incidence and nongenetic risk factors of irinotecan-induced severe neutropenia in the hospital, and provide additional reference and help for clinical treatment. A retrospective analysis of patients who received irinotecan based chemotherapy from May 2014 to May 2019 in Renmin Hospital of Wuhan University was conducted. Univariate analysis and binary logistic regression analysis with the forward stepwise method were used to assess the risk factors associated with severe neutropenia induced by irinotecan. ⋯ The results showed that the incidence of irinotecan-induced severe neutropenia was 5.23% in the hospital. The risk factors included tumor type (lung cancer or ovarian cancer), tumor stage (T2, T3, and T4) and therapeutic regimen (irinotecan plus lobaplatin). Therefore, for patients with these risk factors, it might be advisable to actively consider optimum management to reduce the occurrence of irinotecan-induced severe neutropenia.

Metabolic dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD) is a term that was proposed in 2020 by a group of international experts. However, the impact of MAFLD on complications after hepatectomy in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma is not clear. The aim of this study is to explore the influence of MAFLD on the complications after hepatectomy in patients with hepatitis B virus-related hepatocellular carcinoma (HBV-HCC). ⋯ However, univariate and multivariate analysis revealed that lean-MAFLD was an independent risk factor for post hepatectomy complications in patients with HBV-HCC (odds ratio 2.245; 95% confidence interval 1.243-5.362, P = .028). Similar results were found in the analysis of predictors for infectious and major complications after hepatectomy in patients with HBV-HCC. MAFLD commonly coexists with HBV-HCC and is not directly associated with complications after hepatectomy, but lean-MAFLD is an independent risk factor for post hepatectomy complications in patients with HBV-HCC.

Intubation with videolaryngoscopy has become popular in various clinical settings. However, despite the use of a videolaryngoscope, difficult intubation still exists and intubation failure has been reported. This retrospective study assessed the efficacy of the 2 maneuvers in improving the glottic view during videolaryngoscopic intubation. ⋯ There were significant differences in the distribution of POGO grades according to the application of BURP and epiglottis lifting maneuvers. In the POGO grades 3 and 4 subgroups, the epiglottis lifting maneuver was more effective than the BURP maneuver in improving the POGO score Inadequate visualization of the vocal folds occurred even when intubation was performed using a videolaryngoscope. The application of optimization maneuvers, such as BURP and epiglottis lifting by the blade tip, could improve the glottic view.
