Shenmai injection is frequently utilized in China to clinically treat granulocytopenia in oncology patients following chemotherapy. Despite this, the drug's therapeutic benefits remain a topic of contention, and its active components and potential treatment targets have yet to be established. The present study utilizes a network pharmacology approach to investigate the drug's active ingredients and possible therapeutic targets, and to evaluate the effectiveness of Shenmai injection in treating granulocytopenia through meta-analysis. ⋯ In summary, studies in network pharmacology demonstrate that Shenmai injection exerts an impact on granulocytopenia via various components, targets, and mechanisms. Additionally, evidence-based studies provide strong support for the effectiveness of Shenmai injection in preventing and treating granulocytopenia.

Chiari malformation type I (CM-I) is a congenital anomaly of the hindbrain. The most common symptoms include suboccipital tussive headache, dizziness and neck pain. Recently there has been growing interest in the psychological and psychiatric aspects of functioning in patients with CM-I, which have a significant effect on treatment outcomes and quality of life (QoL). ⋯ Moreover, CM-I patients with higher depression scores described their pain as more severe and had a stronger belief that pain levels were not influenced by them but only by doctors, or that it could be controlled randomly; they were also less willing to accept their illness. CM-I symptoms affect the mood and QoL of patients. Psychological and psychiatric care should be the golden standard in managing this clinical group.

The objective of this study was to investigate the diagnostic model of osteoarthritis by bone turnover markers in Chinese middle-aged subjects. The study was designed as a cross-sectional investigation with 305 participants aged 45 to 64. Radiographs of tibiofemoral knee joints were used for diagnose osteoarthritis. ⋯ The prevalence of osteoarthritis was 52.29% (n = 137/262) in middle age. β-CTx levels tended to increase according to the K-L grades, whereas PTH levels significantly decrease. levels of 25(OH)D, β-CTx, and PTH were each significantly associated with osteoarthritis risk (P < .05). Based on the estimated parameters of the optimal model, a nomogram was constructed for predicting osteoarthritis. These data suggest that the combination of PTH and β-CTx could significantly improve the prognosis of osteoarthritis in middle age, and that the nomogram can assist primary physicians in the identification of high-risk men.

This study aimed to explore the risk factors of clinically relevant pancreatic fistulas (PF) after laparoscopic pancreaticoduodenectomy (LPD). The clinical data of 80 patients who underwent pancreaticoduodenectomy in our hospital were retrospectively analyzed. ⋯ Results from the multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that the pancreatic duct diameter (P = .002) and pancreatic texture (P = .016) were significant risk factors for clinically relevant PF. Based on this study, the pancreatic duct diameter and pancreatic texture are independent risk factors for clinically relevant PF after LPD.

Gastric stump carcinoma (GSC) is very exceptional and little known after Whipple procedure, and its diagnosis and treatment are extremely difficult to handle. ⋯ The development of GSC several years after Whipple procedure is uncommon. This is the first case from China that has received international attention. Early diagnosis is crucial. Surgery is considered to be the most effective treatment for GSC after Whipple procedure if long-term survival is possible and surgical risks are controllable.
