The treatment of abscess in the infratemporal space is still controversial and bedside and operative intraoral drainage is often used to resolve the abscess. However, it can be difficult to control the infection quickly.[1] In this report, the authors present a new technique of using transfixion irrigation with negative pressure drainage for minimally invasive management of infratemporal fossa abscess. ⋯ The report highlights the importance of proper preoperative evaluation, using a thoracic drainage tube as soon as possible, and continuous flushing. A double-lumen drainage tube with a suitable diameter and combined flushing should be designed for future reference. Moreover, the use of drugs can effectively eliminate emboli formation, allowing for faster and more minimally invasive control and removal of the infection.[2].

Mucoepidermoid carcinoma of the breast, 3 cases report and literature review.
Mucoepidermoid carcinoma (MEC) is one of the most common malignant tumors in salivary glands, with specific histomorphological and molecular characteristics. MEC occurring in breast is more rare. ⋯ Breast MEC is extremely rare and estrogen receptor, progesterone receptor, and human epidermal growth factor receptor-2 negative breast cancer with a good prognosis, which is different from other highly malignant triple-negative breast cancers. reviewed its clinicopathologic morphological characteristics, immunohistochemical markers and molecular characteristics, prognosis and clinical treatment through literature, in order to understanding its clinicopathology and providing reference for clinical precise treatment.

Critical patients have conditions that may favor the occurrence of hospital-acquired pressure injury (HAPI). The objective of this study was to identify the incidence and factors associated with the occurrence of HAPI in patients with coronavirus disease 2019 admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) who used the prone position. Retrospective cohort study carried out in an ICU of a tertiary university hospital. ⋯ Of the patients who developed HAPI, 26 (50%) had this event in places possibly associated with the prone position. The factors associated with the occurrence of HAPI in patients prone to coronavirus disease 2019 were the Braden Scale and the length of stay in the ICU. The incidence of HAPI in prone patients was extremely high (62%), which denotes the need to implement protocols in order to prevent the occurrence of these events.

Dysregulation of protein glycosylation plays a crucial role in the development of glioma. Long noncoding RNA (lncRNAs), functional RNA molecules without protein-coding ability, regulate gene expression and participate in malignant glioma progression. However, it remains unclear how lncRNAs are involved in glycosylation glioma malignancy. ⋯ Two glioma subgroups were identified using consistent protein clustering, with the prognosis of the former being better than that of the latter. Least absolute shrinkage and selection operator analysis identified 7 survival RSs for glycosylation-related lncRNAs, which were identified as independent prognostic markers and predictors of glioma clinicopathological features. Glycosylation-related lncRNAs play an important role in the malignant development of gliomas and may help guide treatment options.

The extensive and intricate relationships between circadian rhythm and cancer have been reported in numerous studies. However, in breast cancer (BC), the potential role of circadian clock-related genes (CCRGs) in prognosis prediction has not been fully clarified. The transcriptome data and clinical information were downloaded from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) and Gene Expression Omnibus databases. ⋯ The nomogram exerted a favorable concordance index (0.798) as well as calibration performance, which strongly supports the clinical application of the nomogram. Our study indicated the disruption of the expression of CCRGs in BC and built a favorable prognostic risk model based on 3 independent prognostic CCRGs. These genes may be applied as candidate molecular targets for the diagnosis and therapy of BC.
