To explore the deep mechanisms of ursolic acid (UA) for treating atherosclerosis based on network pharmacology and bioinformatics. UA target genes were derived from traditional Chinese medicine system pharmacology, BATMAN-TCM, and SwissTargetPrediction databases. Atherosclerosis-related genes were derived from genecards, NCBI genes, and OMIM databases. ⋯ The results of the ceRNA analysis indicated that there were 43 targeted miRNAs in AR and 3 miRNAs in IL1B. We speculate that the target genes of UA regulating atherosclerosis are AR and IL1B. The mechanism may be that UA regulates the expression of target genes by regulating the methylation of target genes.

Osteonecrosis of the femoral head (ONFH) is a cause of hip pain and early joint lesion in patient. The hip-preserving treatments are especially important for patients in early stage of ONFH. However, it is controversial of the effectiveness and safety of bone marrow mononuclear cells (BMMNCs) in the treatment of ONFH. The aim of the study was to explore the mid- and long-term efficacy (particularly the rate of total hip arthroplasty [THA]) with BMMNCs in treatment of ONFH. ⋯ Current evidence supports that BMMNCs therapy could reduce the mid- and long-term rate of THA, improve hip function, alleviated the degree of hip pain, delay the progression of imaging staging and not increase the rate of complication, which maybe serve as a preferred option for treating ONFH.

The level of ratio between matrix metalloproteinase-1 (MMP-1) and tissue inhibitor matrix metalloproteinase-1 (TIMP-1) after prolotherapy intervention and the functional outcome in patient with frozen shoulder: A randomized controlled trial.
To determine the effect of prolotherapy on functional outcome changes, along with ratio of matrix metalloproteinase-1 (MMP-1)/tissue inhibitor matrix metalloproteinase-1 (TIMP-1) as an indicator of tissue repair in the glenohumeral joint in frozen shoulder patients. ⋯ Prolotherapy is considered to play a role in repairing cartilage based on biomarker assessment, particularly the ratio of MMP-1/TIMP-1-prolotherapy effectiveness in improving functional outcome and Numerical Rating Scale score.

To explore the differences in postoperative knee joint function and prognostic quality of life in patients undergoing posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) reconstruction at different timing of surgery under the enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) protocol. A total of 266 cases of PCL injury admitted to our hospital between March 2019 and October 2022 were included in this retrospective study and divided them into a short-term group (147 cases with PCL reconstruction completed within 3 weeks after injury) and a long-term group (119 cases with PCL reconstruction performed 3 weeks after injury) according to the timing of surgery after injury. All patients received ERAS care during treatment. ⋯ A similar complication rate was also determined in the 2 groups (P > .05), but the Short-Form 36 Item Health Survey scores were significantly higher in the short-term group (P < .05). Self-rating Anxiety Scale and Self-rating Depression Scale in both groups decreased after treatment (P < .05), and no statistical difference was determined in nursing satisfaction (P = 198). PCL reconstruction within 3 weeks after PCL injury is more conducive to the recovery of patients' knee joint function, and the ERAS protocol can more effectively improve the therapeutic effect of patients.

It is well established that increased internet use is related to an increased risk of upper cross syndrome (UCS) among adolescents. The relationship between internet addiction (IA), a unique condition involving severe internet overuse, and UCS has, however, not been reported. This study aimed to investigate the association between IA and the risk of UCS among Chinese college students. ⋯ The odds ratios and 95% confidence intervals for UCS with IA categories were 1.000 (reference), 5.19 (4.27, 6.32), and 9.14 (7.14, 11.69), respectively (P for trends: < .001). This cross sectional study showed that severe IA was associated with a higher risk of UCS in Chinese college students. In future research, it will be necessary to explore causality regarding this relationship using interventional studies.
