Cuproptosis, an unusual type of programmed cell death mechanism of cell death, involved the disruption of specific mitochondrial metabolic enzymes in the occurrence and development of tumors. However, it was still unclear how the relationship between cuproptosis-related genes (CRGs) may contribute to hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) potential the prognosis of HCC remained limited. Here, the landscape of 14 CRGs in HCC was evaluated using the Cancer Genome Atlas and International Cancer Genome Consortium datasets. ⋯ The Cr-lncRNA prognosis signature was also an independent prognostic factor and associated with the immune microenvironment in HCC. Finally, the drug sensitivity database showed that 8 candidate drugs related to CRGs signature and Cr-lncRNAs signature. In summary, we evaluated and validated the CRGs and Cr-lncRNAs as potential predictive markers for prognosis, immunotherapy, and drug candidate with the personalized diagnosis and treatment of HCC.

Analysis of the sacroiliac joint vacuum phenomenon in adolescent thoracic idiopathic scoliosis (Lenke types 1 and 2).
The sacroiliac joint (SIJ) is the largest axial joint in the human body, and the SIJ vacuum phenomenon (SIJ VP) is a common finding in computed tomography studies of the abdomen, pelvis, and lumbosacral spine in adults, with the incidence increasing with age. Adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS) is an abnormal spinal curvature that appears during adolescence and places abnormal stress on the SIJs. This retrospective observational study aimed to investigate the incidence of the SIJ VP in thoracic AIS (Lenke types 1 and 2). ⋯ All lumbar modifier type C belonged to the VP present group, whereas none to VP absent group. Our results suggest an association between AIS and SIJ VP and SIJ cysts. SIJ VP and SIJ cysts in AIS may be caused and accelerated by abnormal mechanical stress on SIJ due to spinal deformity.

A clear bidirectional relationship exists between malignant cancers including breast cancer and different autoimmune diseases. However, none of the studies have assessed whether this association is causal and none have used Mendelian randomization for determining this relationship. This study therefore investigated the causal relationship between autoimmune diseases and breast cancer using the Mendelian randomization approach. ⋯ The results revealed no strong evidence to support the causal relationship between Graves disease (odds ratio [OR] = 0.9958; 95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.9982-1.0035), Sjögren's syndrome (OR = 1.0018; 95% CI: 0.9950-1.0087), Crohn disease (OR = 2.1195, 95% CI: 0.1872-23.9978), systemic sclerosis (OR = 1.0024; 95% CI: 0.997-1.0079), and psoriasis (OR = 1.0016; 95% CI: 0.9913-1.0121) to breast cancer risk. A similar result was obtained in the reverse Mendelian randomization analysis. Our study provides evidence that autoimmune diseases might not have a causal relationship with breast cancer risk in the European population and concludes that shared genetic effects or environmental confounders.

Endometriosis (EMs) is a frequent disease in women and is the principal cause of infertility and dysmenorrhea. Due to its high recurrence rate and serious complications, more research on EMs is needed. We used network pharmacology and molecular docking technology to predict the key active components, targets, and signaling pathways of Wen Jing decoction (WJD) in the treatment of EMs. ⋯ Based on network pharmacology and molecular docking, WJD was found to act on EMs through multi-targets and related signaling pathways.

The problem-based learning (PBL) is increasingly used in undergraduate education. However, the application of integrated PBL to medical undergraduate education has not been well assessed. An observational study was designed to compare integrated PBL combined with lecture-based classroom (LBC) with traditional LBC teaching in 2 semesters of a Medical School in China. ⋯ More than 80% of students agreed that the integrated PBL improved their abilities to learn independently, understand knowledge, and to raise, analyze and solve problems. In terms of stress in and out of class, a small number of students, <36.7%, felt stressed. The integrated PBL combined with LBC is an effective teaching approach, which may provide new ideas for teaching research and reform on undergraduate medical education in clinical medicine specialty and other medical majors.
