An approach to increasing cervical cancer (CC) screening is to empower women who have been screened to act as advocates and encourage other women they know to get screened. We examined correlates of CC screening advocacy and CC screening uptake among constructs in our conceptual model of factors driving engagement in advocacy. A cross-sectional, correlational analysis was conducted with survey data from 40 women (index participants) who had recently screened for CC, and 103 female members of their social network (alter participants) who had not been screened. ⋯ In multiple regression analyses, CC screening was positively associated with CC prevention advocacy and being age 36 or older, and CC prevention advocacy was also positively associated with CC service utilization self-efficacy. These findings support the validity of our conceptual model regarding factors associated with engagement in CC prevention advocacy among women screened for CC. The strong association between CC prevention advocacy and both CC screening uptake and CC service utilization self-efficacy suggests the potential value of advocacy promotion among women who have been screened, as well as for increasing screening uptake.

Most extremely preterm infants (EPIs), who were born before 28 weeks of gestation, with pulmonary air leak syndrome (ALS) are symptomatic, often severe, and require drainage. EPIs with severe air leak syndrome (sALS) that require tube drainage or needle aspiration are at high risk of morbidities and mortality. This study aimed to investigate perinatal characteristics, morbidities, and mortality in EPIs with sALS, and to estimate the risk of mortality according to gestational age (GA). ⋯ The sALS group had a higher incidence of bronchopulmonary dysplasia and major brain injury. The mortality rate was higher in the sALS group than in the control group (55.3% vs 32.5%, P < .001), and the ALS group had a 1.7 times risk of mortality than the control group. More attention should be paid to sALS in EPIs because the frequency of sALS increased as GA decreased, and the risk of mortality was more significant at lower GA.

Macrophages in the synovium, as immune cells, can be polarized into different phenotypes to play an anti-inflammatory role in the treatment of osteoarthritis. In this study, bibliometric methods were used to search the relevant literature to find valuable research directions for researchers and provide new targets for osteoarthritis prevention and early treatment. ⋯ The findings from the global trend analysis indicate that research on macrophages in the treatment of osteoarthritis is gradually deepening, and the number of studies is increasing. Exosomes may become a research trend and hotspot in the future.

Soluble suppression of tumorigenicity 2 associated with fulminant myocarditis in children: A retrospective observational study.
Fulminant myocarditis (FM) is associated with high mortality, and studies on soluble suppression of tumorigenicity 2 (sST2) and myocarditis are still scarce. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between sST2 and FM in children with myocarditis. This was a single-center retrospective clinical observational study. ⋯ After including multiple factors, creatinine (odd ratio [OR] 0.911; 95% confidence interval [CI], 0.842-0.986; P = .021), NT-proBNP (OR 1.000; 95% CI, 1.000-1.000; P = .01), left ventricular ejection fraction (OR 1.306; 95% CI, 1.153-1.478; P < .001) and sST2 (OR 0.982; 95% CI, 0.965-0.999; P = .038) were still risk factors for FM. The area under curve values were 0.852 for the NT-proBNP, 0.817 for the creatinine, 0.914 for the left ventricular ejection fraction, and 0.865 for the sST2, which showed good sensitivity and specificity for FM. Elevated level of sST2 was associated with fulminant myocarditis. sST2 might be used as a potential biomarker for the diagnosis of fulminant myocarditis.

Postoperative delirium (POD) refers to acute brain dysfunction occurring within 7 days after operation or before discharge. Frailty refers to the state that the body's physiological reserve is insufficient, so that the compensative capacity to endogenous and exogenous stress stimuli decreases. The purpose of this study is to explore the association of preoperative frailty (PF) with POD in elderly patients undergoing hip arthroplasty. ⋯ PF is a crucial risk factor for POD in elderly patients undergoing hip arthroplasty.
