With the increasing incidence of diabetic nephropathy, there is currently no means to completely cure the disease. However, a large number of clinical data proved that traditional Chinese medicine combined with modern medical conventional treatment of diabetic kidney disease has achieved better efficacy than simple Western medicine conventional treatment. ⋯ The combination of medicine was obviously better than conventional Western medicine alone.

Efficacy and safety of diacerein and celecoxib combination therapy for knee osteoarthritis: A double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled prospective study.
Osteoarthritis is a degenerative disease with a growing burden in South Korea. Corresponding drugs are commonly used for pain relief and joint function improvement. Specifically, symptomatic slow-acting drugs for osteoarthritis are frequently used, with diacerein being the most common symptomatic slow-acting drugs for osteoarthritis in South Korea. In this study, we evaluated the efficacy and safety of diacerein and celecoxib combination therapy in patients with osteoarthritis. ⋯ Diacerein and celecoxib combination therapy is as safe and effective as corresponding monotherapies. A relatively early improvement in stiffness and physical function following treatment with this combination therapy indicates that physicians should consider this for the early-stage treatment of patients with symptomatic osteoarthritis.

L. barbarum (Lycium barbarum L.) supplementation for lipid profiles in adults: A systematic review and meta-analysis of RCTs.
Dyslipidemia is a global health concern with an increasing prevalence worldwide. Lycium barbarum (L. barbarum) is widely used as a medicinal and functional food, and evidence suggests that it may be beneficial for lipid management. In this study, we performed a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials investigating the effects of L. barbarum supplementation on lipid profiles in adults. ⋯ The present study showed that L. barbarum supplementation might have some beneficial effects on TG and HDL-C concentrations in adults, and L. barbarum fruit has an even greater effect on TG and HDL-C concentrations. Considering the sensitivity analyses and limitations of the study included, further large-scale studies are needed to confirm these findings.

The effects of exenatide and insulin glargine treatments on bone turnover markers and bone mineral density in postmenopausal patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.
Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) related bone fracture. The effects of glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor analogs for the treatment of T2DM on bone are controversial in human studies. This study aimed to compare the effects of GLP-1 receptor analogs exenatide and insulin glargine treatment on bone turnover marker levels and bone mineral density (BMD) in postmenopausal female patients with T2DM. ⋯ OPG, RANK, RANKL levels did not change with insulin glargine treatment. No statistically significant difference was found between the pre- and posttreatment BMD, alkaline phosphatase, bone-specific alkaline phosphatase, and type 1 crosslinked N-telopeptide levels in both treatment arms. Despite significant weight loss with exenatide treatment, BMD did not decrease, OPG increased, and the resorption markers of RANK and RANKL decreased, which may reflect early antiresorptive effects of exenatide via the OPG/RANK/RANKL pathway.

In recent years, efferocytosis in cardiovascular diseases has become an intense area of research. However, only a few bibliometric analyses have been conducted in this area. In this review, we used CiteSpace 5.7. R2 and VOSviewer 1.6.17 software to perform text mining and knowledge map analysis. This study summarizes the latest progress, development paths, frontier research hotspots, and future research trends in this field. ⋯ Multinational cooperation and multidisciplinary intersections are characteristic trends of development in the field, and the immune microenvironment, glycolysis, and lipid metabolism will be the focus of future research.
