Currently, a variety of Western medical interventions are available for the treatment of diarrhea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome (IBS-D) with comorbid anxiety and depression. However, the attendant negative effects also emerge, putting pressure on healthcare resources and socio-economic structures. In recent years, the benefits of acupuncture (ACU) and moxibustion in the treatment of IBS-D with anxiety and depression have gradually emerged. However, there are many types of ACU-moxibustion-related treatments, and the aim of this study is to examine the effectiveness of different ACU-moxibustion therapies in the treatment of anxiety and depression in IBS-D patients. ⋯ MOX, combined therapies, ACU and EA have certain curative effect on anxiety and depression in patients with IBS-D, and their safety is high. ACU and MOX combined with other therapies also have significant advantages in the treatment effect.

General anesthesia versus local anesthesia for deep brain stimulation targeting of STN in Parkinson's disease: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
Subthalamic nucleus deep brain stimulation (STN-DBS) is a viable therapeutic for advanced Parkinson's disease. However, the efficacy and safety of STN-DBS under local anesthesia (LA) versus general anesthesia (GA) remain controversial. This meta-analysis aims to compare them using an expanded sample size. ⋯ Our meta-analysis indicates that STN-DBS performed under GA or LA have similar clinical outcomes and complications. Therefore, GA may be a suitable option for patients with severe symptoms who cannot tolerate the procedure under LA. Additionally, the GA group with intraoperative imaging showed better clinical outcomes than the LA group with MER. A more compelling conclusion would require larger prospective cohort studies with a substantial patient population and extended long follow-up to validate.

Robotic exoskeletons and total knee arthroplasty: The future of knee rehabilitation and replacement - A meta-analysis.
Exoskeletons can play a crucial role in post-TKA rehabilitation by accelerating recovery, improving mobility, and reducing further injury risk. This meta-analysis evaluated the effectiveness of exoskeletons in post-total knee replacement (TKR) rehabilitation. ⋯ Despite the inclusion of a limited number of studies, our findings suggest that exoskeletons can enhance post-TKR rehabilitation outcomes and improve quality of life. Robot-assisted rehabilitation may be effective following TKR. Further research should confirm these findings.

Meta-analysis of modified Sijunzi decoction for the treatment of chronic atrophic gastritis.
Qi deficiency in the spleen and stomach is considered to be the fundamental pathogenesis of chronic atrophic gastritis (CAG) in Traditional Chinese medicine. Spleen strengthening and Qi replenishment are the basic treatment principles. Sijunzi Decoction serves as the fundamental remedy for spleen notification and Qi replenishment. ⋯ Modified Sijunzi Decoction exhibited superior efficacy to conventional Western medicine in treating CAG. It was shown to improve the Helicobacter pylori eradication rate, reduce symptom scores, enhance quality of life, and improve pepsinogen-related indicators with a high safety profile.

Dose adjustment strategy of levetiracetam in pregnant patients with epilepsy: Case report and literature review.
Pregnant patients with epilepsy are prone to preterm delivery, stillbirth, or cesarean section, and their mortality rate is almost 10 times higher than that of normal pregnant women. The potential negative influences of antiepileptic drugs (AEDs) on the fetus are weighed against the necessity for achieving optimal control of seizures. Treatment with AEDs during pregnancy is a major challenge for pregnant women and healthcare teams. ⋯ It is recommended to regularly monitor the serum LEV level in pregnant patients with epilepsy. This practice serves as a foundation for adjusting the drug treatment plan and offering more precise guidance for medication management during pregnancy.
