Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis are forms of inflammatory bowel disease affecting approximately 1% of the population. Their typical features include chronic diarrhea, abdominal pain, and weight loss. Extraintestinal manifestations may coincide with or precede the diagnosis of these diseases. Primary sclerosing cholangitis is one such extraintestinal manifestation. Although many papers on this field have been published, bibliometric analysis still needs to be conducted. This article summarizes the current research progress through a bibliometric study, provides an overview of the research status in this field, and analyzes recent research trends. ⋯ Research on the association between inflammatory bowel disease and primary sclerosing cholangitis is steadily advancing, with the United States leading in publication output globally. China needs to invest more in research in this area, and collaboration among institutions should be strengthened. The research hotspots revolve around the association between inflammatory bowel disease and primary sclerosing cholangitis, gut microbiota, and other fields.

The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic had a tremendous impact on the global medical system. The development of private hospitals is an important measure to deepen the reform of China's medical and health system, and an important driving force to improve the effective supply of medical services. This study aims to compare the performance of China's private hospitals before and during COVID-19 and determine the factors that affect hospital profitability between the 2 periods. ⋯ COVID-19 had also an impact on hospital efficiency. In addition, before COVID-19, current ratio and cost coverage ratio were the determinants of hospital profitability, while only cost coverage ratio affected hospital profitability during the COVID-19 outbreak. We provide evidence that COVID-19 had an impact on China private hospitals, and the findings will aid private hospitals in improving their performance in the post-COVID-19 era.

Adolescent overweight and obesity are growing public health concerns in developing nations like Ethiopia. They are closely linked to an increased risk of non-communicable diseases, a deterioration in health-related quality of life, subpar academic performance, and a decline in social and emotional well-being. There is, however, little research in this field. ⋯ A high maternal educational level, not eating breakfast and dinner daily in private secondary school adolescents and having a feminine gender, eating eggs, and not walking or riding a bicycle for at least 10 minutes continuously in public secondary school adolescents were factors associated with overweight and obesity. The extent of overweight and obesity was notably higher in the study area. Communities and educational institutions should work together to promote healthy lifestyle choices among adolescents, with a special emphasis on girls and students enrolled in private schools.

To explore the effect of holographic Guasha therapy on the Pittsburg Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) and Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HAMA) in older adults with hypertension living in the community. This prospective study was conducted from July 2019 to December 2020. Older adults with hypertension (systolic pressure ≥ 140 mm Hg, diastolic pressure ≥ 90 mm Hg) were divided into the control and Guasha groups. ⋯ The HAMA index scores did not change in the control or Guasha group (both P > .05). Holographic Guasha appears to achieve better sleep outcomes than conventional treatment in improving the sleep quality of older adults with hypertension living in the community. The participants were not randomly assigned to the treatments, and the results should be confirmed in a formal trial.

Cartilage-hair hypoplasia (CHH, OMIM # 250250) is a rare autosomal recessive disorder, which includes cartilage-hair hypoplasia-anauxetic dysplasia (CHH-AD) spectrum disorders. CHH-AD is caused by homozygous or compound heterozygous mutations in the RNA component of the mitochondrial RNA-processing Endoribonuclease (RMRP) gene. ⋯ Clinical suspicion is the most important and RMRP sequencing should be considered for the diagnosis of CHH-AD.
