Proton beam therapy (PBT) has great advantages as tumor radiotherapy and is progressively becoming a more prevalent choice for individuals undergoing radiation therapy. The objective of this review is to pinpoint collaborative efforts among countries and institutions, while also exploring the hot topics and future outlook in the field of PBT. Data from publications were downloaded from the Web of Science Core Collection. ⋯ Paganetti Harald, 2012, PHYS MED BIOL can be classified as classic literature due to its high citation rate. We believe that research on technology development, dose calculation and relative biological effectiveness were the knowledge bases in this field. Future research hotspots may include clinical trials, flash radiotherapy, and immunotherapy.

Case Reports
Acute cardiac tamponade after Endostar treatment of non-small cell lung cancer: A case report.
Recombinant human endostatin (Endostar) is extensively utilized in China for the clinical management of patients with driver gene-negative non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) at stage TNM IV. This report describes the case of a lung cancer patient treated exclusively with Endostar maintenance therapy, who experienced a rapid deterioration in respiratory function. ⋯ Medical professionals should remain vigilant for the potential, albeit rare, risk of Endostar inducing acute pericardial tamponade, a severe and potentially fatal complication.

Randomized Controlled Trial
Clinical study on the treatment of Qingfei Paidu Granules combined with nondrug therapy for asymptomatic patients with novel coronavirus.
The COVID-19 pandemic, ongoing for over 2 years with evolving viral strains, including the highly infectious Omicron variant, underscores the pivotal role of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in pandemic intervention. Qingfei Paidu Granules (QFPG) are incorporated into the national TCM diagnosis and treatment protocol. This study aims to assess the clinical effectiveness of QFPG combined with nonpharmacological interventions in asymptomatic novel coronavirus infection. ⋯ Combining QFPG with traditional Chinese nonpharmacological interventions effectively shortened the conversion time of COVID-19 nucleic acid detection and reduced the conversion rate from asymptomatic infection to mild/moderate cases. This treatment approach is worth promoting in the management of asymptomatic patients during pandemics.

Anesthesia management of patients with dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) has always been a challenge for anesthesiologists. Eighty percent of patients with DCM have heart failure as the first symptom, which may be accompanied by arrhythmias, thromboembolism, etc. Thrombosis is a significant contributing factor to adverse cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events, and its risk is severely underestimated in the anesthetic management of DCM. ⋯ This case discusses the causes of intraoperative thrombosis and summarizes and reflects on the anesthesia management of this case, which has always been one of the difficult points for anesthesiologists to master. In the anesthesia management of DCM patients, it is also necessary to maintain hemodynamic stability, enhance perioperative coagulation management, use anticoagulants rationally, and avoid the occurrence of thrombotic events.

Observational Study
Evaluation of thyroid congestion in patients with heart failure using shear wave elastography: An observational study.
Shear wave elastography (SWE) is a noninvasive method for measuring organ stiffness. Liver stiffness measured using SWE reflects hepatic congestion in patients with heart failure (HF). However, little is known about the use of SWE to assess other organ congestions. ⋯ SWE of the thyroid was significantly correlated with SWE of the liver (R = 0.768, P < .001), thyroid stimulation hormone (R = 0.570, P = .011), free thyroxine (R = 0.493, P = .032), estimated right atrial pressure (RAP; R = 0.468, P = .033), and composite congestion score (R = 0.441, P = .045). SWE may be useful for evaluating thyroid stiffness and assessing the degree of thyroid congestion. Thyroid congestion may reflect the elevation of RAP and cause thyroid dysfunction through organ congestion.
