Core decompression of the femoral head is a standard surgical procedure used in the early stages of the femoral head avascular necrosis (AVN) (Steinberg I to III). This study aimed to determine whether the advantages of osseoscopy-assisted core decompression using a standard arthroscopic set up in the early stages of AVN of the femoral head. Twelve hips of 12 patients who underwent osseoscopy-assisted core decompression and debridement with the diagnosis of AVN of the femoral head were reviewed between 2019 and 2021. ⋯ However, 3 patients (25%) culminated in total hip arthroplasty in a 1-year follow-up. Using an arthroscopic set up during osseoscopy-assisted core decompression surgery of the femoral head AVN has the benefits of direct visualization and accurate debridement of the involved area. The osseoscopy-assisted core decompression technique avoids excessive debridement of the healthy bone tissue adjacent to the necrotic area.

The detection of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) nucleic acid detection provides a direct basis for diagnosing Coronavirus Disease 2019. However, nucleic acid test false-negative results are common in practice and may lead to missed diagnosis. Certain biomarkers, clinical symptoms, and imaging examinations are related to SARS-CoV-2 nucleic acid detection and potential predictors. ⋯ Predictive values of biomarkers, symptoms, and imaging for the nucleic acid-positive rate were calculated by Least Absolute Shrinkage and Selection Operators regression analysis and binary logistic regression analysis, and areas under the curve of these indicators were calculated. Hemoglobin (OR = 1.018, 95% CI: 1.006-1.030; P = .004) was higher in the respiratory tract-positive group than the nucleic acid-negative group, but platelets (OR = 0.996, 95% CI: 0.993-0.999; P = .021) and eosinophils (OR = 0.013, 95% CI: 0.001-0.253; P = .004) were lower; areas under the curve were 0.563, 0.614, and 0.642, respectively. Some biomarkers can predict SARS-CoV-2 viral nucleic acid detection rates in Coronavirus Disease 2019 and are potential auxiliary diagnostic tests.

Ultrasound therapy is a method of applying ultrasonic energy to the stimulation produced by human body to change the function and tissue state of the body in order to achieve the purpose of treating diseases. Chronic venous ulcer is a common chronic skin ulcer. GSE222503 for ultrasound therapy of chronic venous ulcers was downloaded from gene expression omnibus database, which were used to identify differentially expressed genes. ⋯ Comparative toxicogenomics database analysis showed that H3C12, KLRB1, PF4, NR1I2 are associated with thrombophlebitis, phlebitis, vascular malformations, metabolic syndrome, ulcers, and inflammation. In samples of chronic venous ulcer tissue treated with ultrasound, NR1I2 shows low expression, while in samples of chronic venous ulcer tissue without ultrasound treatment, it shows high expression. This finding suggests a potential role of NR1I2 in the process of ultrasound therapy for chronic venous ulcers, which may be related to the therapeutic effect of ultrasound therapy on chronic venous ulcers.

Glioma is a typical malignant tumor of the nervous system. It is of great significance to identify new biomarkers for accurate diagnosis of glioma. In this context, THOC6 has been studied as a highly diagnostic prognostic biomarker, which contributes to improve the dilemma in diagnosing gliomas. ⋯ Immuno-infiltration analysis showed that the expression of THOC6 in glioma was closely related to the infiltration level of multiple immune cells. Molecular docking results showed that THOC6 might be the target of anti-glioma drugs. THOC6 is a novel diagnostic factor and prognostic biomarker of glioma.

To explore the potential mechanism in Cuscuta sinensis on diarrhea-type irritable bowel syndrome using network pharmacology and molecular docking techniques. First, the active components and related targets of Cuscuta were found setting oral utilization >30% and drug-like properties greater than or equal to 0.18 as filter information from TCMSP database. The targets of diarrheal irritable bowel syndrome were compiled by searching DrugBank, GeneCards, OMIM, PharmGkb, and TTD databases. ⋯ The target information of Cuscuta and diarrhea-type irritable bowel syndrome was compiled, which can be resulted in 11 active compounds such as quercetin, kaempferol, isorhamnetin, β-sitosterol, and another 17 core targets such as TP53, IL6, AKT1, IL1B, TNF, EGFR, etc, whose Kyoto encyclopedia of genes and genomes was enriched in the pathways of lipids and atherosclerosis, chemical carcinogenesis-receptor activation, PI3K-Akt signaling pathway, and fluid shear stress and atherosclerosis, etc. Docking demonstrated that the core targets and the active compounds were able to be better combined. Cuscuta chinensis may exert preventive effects on diarrhea-type irritable bowel syndrome by reducing intestinal inflammation, protecting intestinal mucosa, and playing an important role in antioxidant response through multi-targets and multi-pathways.
