Several studies have confirmed the important role of endometrial cancer (EC) in the development and progression of breast cancer (BC), and this study will explore the causal relationship between EC and BC by 2-sample Mendelian randomization analysis. Pooled data from published genome-wide association studies were used to assess the association between EC and BC risk in women using 5 methods, namely, inverse variance weighting (IVW), MR-Egger, weighted median (WME), simple multimaximetry (SM) and weighted multimaximetry (WM) with the EC-associated genetic loci as the instrumental variables (IV) and sensitivity analyses were used to assess the robustness of the results. ⋯ EC is associated with an increased risk of developing BC. The results of this MR analysis can be used as a guideline for screening for BC in women with EC and to help raise awareness of screening for early detection and treatment.

Understanding the knowledge and attitudes of university students regarding organ transplantation and donation is crucial, as these students can significantly influence public opinion and behavior. This study aims to assess the knowledge and attitudes of North Cyprus University students towards organ transplantation and donation. ⋯ This study highlights the necessity for educational interventions and awareness campaigns to improve understanding and attitudes towards organ donation among Northern Cyprus University students. Incorporating organ donation education into university curricula, providing accurate online information, addressing misconceptions, and promoting awareness of donation centers and transplant hospitals are essential steps to mitigate organ shortages. Public engagement should be encouraged to foster a supportive environment for organ donation.

Raftlin - a potential biomarker for axial spondyloarthritis and psoriatic arthritis: An observational study.
Our aim is to evaluate serum Raftlin levels as a biomarker for diagnosing and monitoring disease activity in patients with axial spondyloarthritis (axSpA) and Psoriatic arthritis (PsA). This trial included 40 axSpA patients, 40 PsA patients, and 40 healthy participants as the control group. Disease activity was assessed with Ankylosing Spondylitis Disease Activity Score for axSpA patients and The Disease Activity Index for Psoriatic Arthritis for PsA patients. ⋯ Our results demonstrate that although serum Raftlin levels are elevated in axSpA patients, Raftlin cannot be used as an alone diagnostic marker for axSpA. Furthermore, it was not found to be related to the monitoring of disease activity, the level of pain, disability, or severity of enthesitis. This study is prospectively registered at www.clinicaltrials.gov (ID: NCT05771389).

Over the past 3 decades numerous studies have reported an association between systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and thyroid cancers. However, there has been no scientometric analysis in this area of research. To perform a comprehensive scientometric analysis of the global literature published on the association between SLE and thyroid cancers. ⋯ The most popular journals in this field were "Arthritis Research and Therapy" and "Frontiers in Endocrinology," while the most co-cited journal was "Autoimmunity Reviews." The top 3 most prolific authors were Bernatsky, S., Clarke, A. E., and Ramsey-Goldman, R with 9 publications each. This first scientometric study comprehensively offered an overview of the status of thyroid cancers in SLE patients, assessing scholarly productivity in this domain over a period of 50 years.

Analysis of risk factors for the sigmoid stoma complications in patients after abdominoperineal resection surgery: An observational study.
To analyze the risk factors for intraperitoneal sigmoid stoma complications after abdominoperineal resection (APR) surgery to guide clinical practice. Patients who were diagnosed with rectal cancer and underwent APR surgery from June 2013 to June 2021 were retrospectively enrolled. The characteristics of the stoma complication group and the no stoma complication group were compared, and univariate and multivariate logistic analyses were employed to identify risk factors for sigmoid stoma-related complications. ⋯ Multivariate logistic regression analysis revealed that operation time was an independent risk factor (P < .05, OR = 1.005, 95% CI = 1.000-1.010) for short-term stoma complications. Both the short-term and long-term stoma complication rates in our institution were low. A longer operation time was an independent risk factor for short-term stoma complications after APR surgery.
