The aim of this study was to investigate the key targets and molecular mechanisms of the drug pair Astragalus membranaceus and Poria cocos (HFDP) in the treatment of immunity. We utilized network pharmacology, molecular docking, and immune infiltration techniques in conjunction with data from the GEO database. Previous clinical studies have shown that HFDP has a positive impact on immune function. ⋯ The molecular docking results showed that the 5 core genes had obvious affinity for the active ingredients of HFDP, which could be used as potential targets to improve the immunity of HFDP. Our findings suggest that HFDP is characterized by "multiple components, multiple targets, and multiple pathways" in regulating immunity. It may play an essential role in regulating immunity by regulating the expression and polymorphism of the central target genes ESR1, JUN, CYP3A4, CYP2C9, and SERPINE1.

walled-off pancreatic necrosis (WOPN) is one of the complications of acute pancreatitis (AP) with high mortality. A method to predict the development of WOPN in AP patients admitted to the emergency department may guide life-saving practices such as early initiation of antibiotic therapy and, when necessary, referral of the patient to a center where necrosectomy can be performed. This study is a prospective observational study. ⋯ In the receiver operating characteristic analysis, all methods except SII were found to be successful in predicting WOPN. QT dispersion, SII, MII-1, MII-2, and MII-3 are valuable tools that provide rapid results and successfully predict the development of WOPN in AP. However, MII-2 and QT dispersion appears to be slightly more successful than the others.

Relationship between salusin beta levels and the severity of acute pancreatitis in patients.
This study aimed to evaluate the significance of serum salusin beta (SAL-β) levels in predicting the severity of acute pancreatitis (AP) in patients diagnosed with this condition and to assess its relationship with disease and prognosis. ⋯ SAL-β can be used to detect and monitor severe pancreatitis. Further extensive clinical studies with larger case series are needed.

The association between serum uric acid and low birth weight in advance maternal age women with hypertension: An observational study.
In China, the implementation of 2-child policy since 2015 entitles increasing number of advanced maternal age. Recently, Chinese hypertensive disorders of pregnancy (HDP) in advanced-age women have attracted significant clinical and epidemiological research interest. Previous studies have shown an association between serum uric acid (SUA) levels and low birth weight (LBW) in children. ⋯ With possible confounders adjusted, high SUA levels were independent risk factors for LBW (odds ratio [OR]2.88, 95% confidence intervals [CI]1.22-6.81), multivariate logistic regression analysis using SUA as a continuous variable recapitulated the pattern (OR 1.01, 95% CI 1.00-1.01). In addition, SUA levels in women with advanced maternal age and hypertension were linearly related to LBW incidence. According to this study, SUA levels in patients with advanced maternal age and HDP are associated with LBW incidence.

Treatment outcomes for different causes of childhood dwarfism vary widely, and there are no studies on the economic burden of treatment in relation to outcomes. This paper compared the efficacy and healthcare costs per unit height of recombinant human growth hormone (rhGH) for the treatment of growth hormone deficiency (GHD) and idiopathic short stature (ISS) with a view to providing a more cost-effective treatment option for children. We retrospectively analyzed 117 cases (66 cases of GHD and 51 cases of ISS) of short-stature children who first visited Weifang People's Hospital between 2019.1 and 2022.1 and were treated with rhGH for 1 to 3 years to track the treatment effect and statistically analyzed by using paired t tests, non-parametric tests, and chi-square tests, to evaluate the efficacy of rhGH treatment for GHD and ISS children and the medicinal cost. ⋯ The GV of the GHD group was higher than that of the ISS group from 0 to 36 months after treatment (P < .05 at 3, 6, 9, and 12 months); the height standard deviation scores (HtSDS) of the children in the GHD and ISS groups increased gradually with the increase of the treatment time, and the changes in the height standard deviation scores (ΔHtSDS) of the GHD group were more significant than those of the ISS group (P < .05 at 3, 6, 9, and 12 months). (2) The medical costs in the pubertal group for a 1-cm increase in height were higher than those of children in the pre-pubertal group at the same stage (3 to 24 months P < .05). The longer the treatment time within the same group, the higher the medical cost of increasing 1cm height. RhGH is effective in treating children with dwarfism to promote height growth, and the effect on children with GHD is better than that of children with ISS; the earlier the treatment time, the lower the medical cost and the higher the comprehensive benefit.
