A prospective cohort study investigated the effectiveness of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) infusion for refractory thin endometrium in 38 infertile patients. Patients showed significant improvement in endometrial thickness post-PRP injection, leading to successful implantation and pregnancy. ⋯ This implies AMH levels could serve as a prognostic indicator for treatment outcomes, aiding clinicians in optimizing protocols and reducing patient burden. Further research is needed to confirm these findings in larger and more diverse populations, along with exploring long-term reproductive success rates post-PRP treatment.

Urachal anomalies are rare and can present with various clinical manifestations. Urachal remnants, in particular, can be difficult to diagnose because of atypical symptoms at presentation. This study reports a case of intestinal obstruction in an infant secondary to an infected urachal cyst. ⋯ Intestinal obstruction is an exceedingly rare presentation of urachal remnants. This case highlights that urachal anomalies should be considered in the differential diagnosis in patients with intestinal obstruction and a concurrent febrile urinary tract infection.

Postoperative ileus (POI) is a prevalent surgical complication, which results in prolonged hospitalization, patient distress, and substantial economic burden. The literature aims to present a brief outline of interventions for preventing and treating POI post-surgery. Data from 2014 to 2023 were gathered from reputable sources like PubMed, PubMed Central, Google Scholar, Research Gate, and Science Direct. ⋯ The ongoing exploration of novel therapeutic strategies such as targeting the mast cells, vagal nerve stimulation and tight junction protein, and prokinetic-mediated instigation of the cholinergic anti-inflammatory trail not only holds promise for enhanced treatment but also deepens the understanding of intricate cellular and molecular pathways underlying POI. POI presents a complex challenge in various surgical specialties, necessitating a multifaceted management approach. The integration of preventive and treatment measures within enhanced recovery programs has significantly reduced POI frequency and duration.

Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative Study Observational Study
Comparative study of choline alfoscerate as a combination therapy with donepezil: A mixed double-blind randomized controlled and open-label observation trial.
Choline alfoscerate (alpha-glycerylphosphorylcholine) is a phospholipid that includes choline, which increases the release of acetylcholine. The ASCOMALVA trial, a combination of donepezil and choline alfoscerate, slowed cognitive decline in Alzheimer disease. This study aims to replicate the effect by combining donepezil with other nootropics currently used in South Korea. ⋯ Choline alfoscerate exhibits additional cognitive improvement in both cognitive and noncognitive domains, supporting the findings of the ASCOMALVA trial.

Randomized Controlled Trial Observational Study
Efficacy and safety of 0.01% atropine combined with orthokeratology lens in delaying juvenile myopia: An observational study.
It aims to study the efficacy and safety of low-concentration Atropine combined with orthokeratology (OK) lens in delaying juvenile myopia. This is a prospective study, 172 adolescents aged 8 to 12 years who were admitted to the diopter department of Hengshui People Hospital from April 2021 to May 2022 were selected. According to the equivalent spherical diopter measured at the time of initial diagnosis, myopic patients were randomly divided into low myopia group (group A) and moderate myopia group (group B). ⋯ Low-concentration atropine combined with OK lens could effectively delay the development of juvenile myopia, and had a high safety. Low-concentration of Atropine would not have a significant impact on the basic tear secretion and tear film stability. Nightwear of OK lens also had no significant impact, but it would significantly reduce the tear film rupture time in the first 3 months, and at the same time, the tear film rupture time would be the same after 6 months as before treatment.
