To explore the effects of focused solution nursing combined with cognitive intervention combined with functional training on negative emotions, compliance and quality of life in elderly patients with sudden deafness. A total of 160 patients with sudden deafness in the elderly who were treated in our hospital from January 2019 to May 2021 were selected as the objects of this retrospective study. Based on different treatment approaches, subjects were divided into a control group and an observation group. ⋯ The mental vitality score, social interaction score, emotional restriction score, and mental status of the observation group were significantly higher than those of the control group. The observation group's psychological compliance, activity compliance, dietary compliance, and treatment protocol compliance were significantly higher than those of the control group (P < .05). Adopting the focused solution model of nursing care can provide a better nursing recovery for elderly patients with sudden deafness, significantly improve the patient quality of life and anxiety and depression, improve patient compliance with treatment, and provide a certain reference for the nursing of elderly patients with sudden deafness.

Most adrenal tumors are benign and primary adrenal malignancies are relatively rare. Primary adrenal lymphoma (PAL) is a very rare and highly aggressive malignant tumor with unknown etiology, atypical clinical symptoms, nonspecific imaging manifestations, difficult disease diagnosis and poor prognosis. ⋯ This case demonstrates that primary adrenal diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (PADLBCL) is highly aggressive, has a poor prognosis, is prone to recurrence, has poor therapeutic outcomes, and is difficult to diagnose. Clinicians should consider the possibility of PADLBCL when encountering huge adrenal-occupying lesions and consider chemotherapy before surgery. Reducing the tumor size before surgery is a more favorable therapeutic approach, thus prolonging the patient life and improving the quality of survival.

To determine whether there is a causal relationship between Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) and glaucoma, a 2-sample Mendelian Randomization (MR) design was applied with the main analysis method of inverse-variance-weighted. The reliability of the results was checked using the heterogeneity test, pleiotropy test, and leave-one-out method. ⋯ The sensitivity of the results was acceptable (P > .05) for the 3 test methods. In conclusion, this MR analysis provides preliminary evidence of a potential causal relationship between COVID-19 and glaucoma.

Importance of parental anxiety in management of developmental breast conditions in children: A study with a prospective hierarchical regression model.
The parent is the most critical link and decision-maker between the patient and the healthcare provider in treating many pediatric diseases. This entity is essential for the management of pediatric breast diseases for which the rate of surgical intervention is known to be very low. Although previous publications have emphasized that pediatric breast diseases may cause alarming anxiety in parents, the demographic factors that influence this anxiety have not been investigated. ⋯ Of the demographic characteristics, there was a significant correlation (P < .05) between the patient's sex, age, developmental period, Tanner stage, referral status, management method, family's place of residence, economic distress, and BAS. However, according to the 2-stage hierarchical regression model, only 3 demographic characteristics, the patient's gender, place of residence, and method used in patient management, significantly predicted BAS (P < .05, ΔR2 = .35). Among the many factors that affect anxiety experienced by parents whose son or daughter has breast problems, the gender of the child, place of residence of the family, and management methods used by the practitioner are demographic characteristics that should be taken into consideration.

Transforming performance: The impact of an 8-week complex training program on strength, power, and change of direction in female basketball athletes.
This study aimed to investigate the effect of complex training on the strength, power, and change of direction (COD) performance of college female basketball athletes. ⋯ Our findings indicate that the implementation of CT could be a promising and innovative intervention for enhancing the strength, power, and COD performance of female basketball players.
