Meta Analysis Comparative Study
Comparing the efficacy of traditional Chinese exercises and general aerobic exercises in university students with sleep disorders: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
The objective of this study was to compare the impact of traditional Chinese exercise (TCEs) and general aerobic exercise (GAEs) on the sleep quality of university students and to determine which exercise is more effective in improving sleep quality in this specific population. ⋯ GAEs is more effective than TCEs in improving the sleep quality of university students. An optimal aerobic exercise regimen for enhancing sleep quality among university students involves engaging in sessions lasting 40~60 minutes, 3~5 times per week, over a duration of 4 weeks.

Review Case Reports
HyperArcTM volumetric modulated arc therapy for hypopharyngeal cancer with solitary recurrence in the cervical vertebra: A case report and literature review.
It is difficult to reirradiate head and neck cancers because of the toxicity from previous radiation dose delivery. Conventional volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT) and intensity-modulated radiation therapy often have poor target coverage. The new HyperArcTM VMAT (HA-VMAT) planning approach reportedly has better target coverage, higher conformity, and can spare normal organs compared to conventional VMAT; however, research on recurrent head and neck cancers is limited. Here, we report the clinical outcomes of HA-VMAT for previously irradiated hypopharyngeal cancer with solitary recurrence in the first cervical vertebra (C1). ⋯ This is the first report regarding the clinical outcomes of HA-VMAT for previously irradiated hypopharyngeal cancer with solitary recurrence over the C1 vertebra. HA-VMAT achieves highly conformal dose distribution and excellent sparing of critical organs. There was a favorable initial clinical response with no toxicity. Long-term follow-up is essential in such cases.

Chronic systolic heart failure (CSHF) is a significant health burden with high morbidity and mortality. The role of subclinical hypothyroidism (SCH) in the prognosis of CSHF patients remains a critical area of inquiry. This systematic review and meta-analysis aim to elucidate the impact of SCH on the prognosis of patients with CSHF. ⋯ SCH emerges as a predictive factor for all-cause mortality, cardiovascular events, and rehospitalization in CSHF patients. This finding underscores the importance of screening for SCH in CSHF patients, highlighting its potential role in improving patient prognosis.

Meta Analysis
Associations between CDH1 gene polymorphisms and the risk of gastric cancer: A meta-analysis based on 44 studies.
Numerous studies have investigated the association between CDH1 polymorphisms and gastric cancer (GC) risk. However, the results have been inconsistent and controversial. To further determine whether CDH1 polymorphisms increase the risk of GC, we conducted a meta-analysis by pooling the data. ⋯ Our findings suggested that CDH1 gene polymorphisms were significantly correlated with GC risk, especially in rs16260 and rs5030625 polymorphisms.

The prevalence of cardiac arrhythmia, which can lead to cardiac death, heart failure, and cardioembolic stroke, is increasing. Although various Western medicines for cardiac arrhythmias have been developed, there are still various difficulties in the management of arrhythmias. Traditional herbal medicines (THM) are widely used to manage arrhythmia in East Asia. Therefore, this study aimed to assess the effectiveness and safety of THM in the treatment of arrhythmia. ⋯ Details of the protocol for this systematic review and meta-analysis were registered on the Open Science Framework (OSF. io).
