Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) ranks among the leading causes of cancer-related mortality. Despite extensive research, the precise etiology and progression of RCC remain incompletely elucidated. Long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) has been identified as competitive endogenous RNA (ceRNA) capable of binding to microRNA (miRNA) sites, thereby modulating the expression of messenger RNAs (mRNA) and target genes. ⋯ Subsequently, a network diagram comprising 217 nodes and 463 edges was constructed based on these key DElncRNAs. The functional analysis of DEmRNAs in the ceRNA network was conducted using Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes and gene ontology. We constructed RCC-specific ceRNA networks and identified the crucial lncRNAs associated with RCC using bioinformatics analysis, which will help us further understand the pathogenesis of this disease.

Association between wait time of central venous pressure and 28-day mortality in critically patients with acute pancreatitis: A restrospective cohort study.
Hemodynamic management is crucial in patients with acute pancreatitis. Central venous pressure (CVP) is widely used to assess volume status. Our aim was to determine the optimal time window for obtaining CVP measurements to prevent adverse outcomes in patients. ⋯ Univariate and multivariate Cox regression analyses revealed a significantly increased risk of 28-day mortality in patients from the delayed CVP monitoring group compared to those who underwent early CVP measurements (HR = 2.87; 95% CI: 1.35-6.13; P = .006). Additionally, consistent results were observed for the risks of 90-day mortality (HR = 1.91; 95% CI: 1.09-3.35; P = .023) and 1-year mortality (HR = 1.84; 95% CI: 1.09-3.10; P = .023). In the ICU, an extended waiting time for CVP measurements in patients with acute pancreatitis was associated with an increased risk of 28-day mortality.

Assessment of health literacy and HPV knowledge among university students: An observational study.
Health literacy (HL) level is related to promotion of health, improved health behaviors, and early diagnosis of diseases, as well as the appropriate use of health services. Human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination is the primary method of protection against cervical cancer and recommended for women aged 9 to 27. This study aims to assess the university students' knowledge about HPV and the association between HL and HPV vaccination. ⋯ Participants with higher levels of HPV knowledge (P = .034) and total HPV-KS score (P = .025) were statistically significantly higher in students with adequate/excellent HL. Our results reveal that knowledge about HPV vaccination is closely related to HL levels. Educational interventions on HL may be considered to increase HPV vaccination rates.

Current status and trends of urinary incontinence research in recent 10 years based on VOSviewer visualized analysis: An observational study.
Urinary incontinence (UI) is prevalent and imposes significant social and economic burdens. This study reviews the literature on UI, assesses the current research status, and projects future trends. To visualize and analyze UI-related research, summarize and generalize the knowledge framework of the global UI field, and explore the current state of research and emerging trends, we conducted a comprehensive search of UI-related studies from 2014 to 2024 using the Web of Science Core Collection. ⋯ This study demonstrates that UI research is more advanced in Europe and North America and that Neurourology and Urodynamics is the most influential journal in the field. In addition, epidemiology, treatment, and male UI will continue to be prominent topics. Our study contributes to a more comprehensive understanding of the current state of UI research and provides insights into future research directions in the field.

Prognostic factor of patients with short bowel syndrome due to nonCrohn disease: A single institution observational study.
Short bowel syndrome (SBS) is a severely disabling and potentially life-threatening condition. Survival data for patients with SBS are limited. This study aimed to investigate prognostic factors in patients with SBS undergoing surgery. ⋯ Jejunostomy and PN rates were significantly higher in the death group (P < .01, P = .03, respectively). SBS is associated with significantly higher mortality rates. Jejunostomy and long PN duration are significantly associated with death in patients with SBS.
