This study aims to present a novel surgical approach for the resection of anterior mediastinal tumors, specifically focusing on micronodular thymoma with lymphoid stroma (MNT), a rare and distinct variant of thymoma. The single subxiphoid incision technique, although reported in limited cases, offers a minimally invasive option with potential benefits. We report the case of a 76-year-old male who underwent this innovative procedure and was diagnosed with MNT, providing insight into the management and outcomes of this rare pathology. ⋯ This case underscores the importance of recognizing the unique pathological features of MNT and the need for a cautious diagnostic approach to differentiate it from other cystic lesions. Additionally, the successful use of single-port thoracoscopy under the xiphoid process for the removal of thymic tumors suggests its potential as an effective surgical method for these challenging cases.

Rapid bone destruction caused by multidrug-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa septic arthritis: A case report.
Infections due to multidrug-resistant (MDR) Pseudomonas aeruginosa are strongly associated with poor outcomes, including prolonged hospitalization and an increased risk of mortality. Antimicrobial options for the treatment of severe infections due to MDR P aeruginosa are quite limited, and treatment remains challenging. ⋯ This case underscores the challenges of managing infections with MDR organisms in complex clinical scenarios, emphasizing the need for timely intervention and appropriate antibiotic therapy.

To investigate the effects of pretreatment with long-acting gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonist (GnRH-a) before frozen-thawed embryo transfer (FET) on pregnancy outcomes in patients after minimal-mild (stages I-II) peritoneal endometriosis surgery. A retrospective cohort study was performed from March 2018 to May 2019. Overall, 274 patients met inclusion criteria of undergoing FET after minimal/mild peritoneal endometriosis surgery. ⋯ However, group A2's CPR and LBR were significantly higher than group B's (64.9% and 55.4% vs 49.2% and 40.0%, respectively; χ2 = 4.560, P = .023 and χ2 = 4.375, P = .026, respectively). Logistic regression analysis showed that GnRH-a pretreatment (1 or 2 doses) had no significant effect on CPR and LBR compared with the HRT-only group. Patients with minimal-mild (stages I-II) peritoneal endometriosis surgery may not require GnRH-a pretreatment before FET.

Considering the invasiveness of the biopsy method, we attempted to evaluate the ability of the gamma distribution model using magnetic resonance imaging images to stage and grade benign and malignant brain tumors. ⋯ The findings of our study highlight the potential of using a gamma distribution model with diffusion-weighted imaging based on multiple b-values for grading and staging brain tumors. Its potential integration into routine clinical practice could advance neurooncology and improve patient outcomes through more accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
