Shwachman-Diamond syndrome (SDS) is a rare autosomal recessive genetic disease, the diagnosis is a big challenge for clinician, as the clinical manifestations of the disease are diverse. Here, we report a girl who diagnosed with SDS with the symptoms of recurrent fever, elevated transaminase levels, and granulocytosis. The aspects of diagnosis and treatment were discussed and a literature review was conducted. ⋯ Patients with SDS lacks typical clinical symptoms, which presents a huge challenge for clinicians. Genetic testing techniques is playing an important role in the diagnosis of diseases. This patient without typical clinical manifestations such as exocrine pancreatic insufficiency and skeletal abnormality, we report this case aimed to strengthen the understanding of the disease.

Investigation of functional constipation in elderly inpatients and analysis of its influencing factors: A cross-sectional study.
To investigate the prevalence of functional constipation (FC) in elderly hospitalized patients and analyze the influencing factors. This was a cross-sectional study in which 506 patients hospitalized in general surgery from February to June 2020 were selected. ⋯ Univariate analysis revealed statistically significant differences in family history of constipation (P = .033), sedentary (P = .004), self-care ability (P = .001), body mass index (P = .013), defecation time (P < .0001), spicy food intake in dietary preference (P = .001), age (P = .004), and education level (P = .016), and binary logistic regression analysis showed that defecation time and spicy food consumption were independent influencing factors of FC. For hospitalized elderly people, regular morning defecation and not eating spicy foods can more helpful to slow the occurrence of functional constipation.

The effect of prone-position ventilatory strategy among neurology patients with SARS-CoV-2: A cross-sectional survey.
Awake-prone position combined with noninvasive ventilation or high-flow nasal cannula ventilation has been shown to be safe in the treatment of patients with moderate to severe ARDS and COVID-19, and may avoid intubation and reduce patient mortality. We conducted a cross-sectional study in a hospital to observe the effect of prone position on neurological patients with SARS-CoV-2. A total of 52 neurological patients with SARS-CoV-2 participated in the survey. ⋯ Oxygen saturation improvements did not differ among delivery modes. Prone position nursing can improve the effect of oxygen therapy on patients with neurological diseases combined with SARS-CoV-2 infection. Prone position nursing can slow the need for advanced equipment such as ventilators during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Rapid bone destruction caused by multidrug-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa septic arthritis: A case report.
Infections due to multidrug-resistant (MDR) Pseudomonas aeruginosa are strongly associated with poor outcomes, including prolonged hospitalization and an increased risk of mortality. Antimicrobial options for the treatment of severe infections due to MDR P aeruginosa are quite limited, and treatment remains challenging. ⋯ This case underscores the challenges of managing infections with MDR organisms in complex clinical scenarios, emphasizing the need for timely intervention and appropriate antibiotic therapy.
