Robot-assisted resection of ganglion cell neuroma with a diameter of 78 mm: A case report.
Intrathoracic paragangliomas are typically found within the intricate posterior mediastinal region adjacent to the vertebrae, often presenting with substantial volume. Surgical excision of such tumors presents formidable challenges and is conventionally performed via open surgical procedures. ⋯ The successful application of the robot-assisted thoracic surgery surgical technique underscores its efficacy in minimally invasive resection of sizable intrathoracic tumors situated in the posterior mediastinum.

Peptic ulcer (PU) is a common digestive disorder in the gastroduodenal. Although bibliometrics has become very popular in the medical field, a bibliometric analysis of research related to PU has yet to be reported. Therefore, this research aims to analyze the trends and hotspots of PU in the last 15 years. ⋯ The article with the highest burst strength was published in 2012 by Malfertheiner Peter. The keyword with the highest burst strength was "oxidative stress." Our research provides a bibliometric analysis of PU research to reveal the trends and hotspots of PU for 2008 to 2023. Our findings will help researchers to quickly understand the current state of research and provide a reference for in-depth studies in this area to foster the development of PU research.

Upper respiratory tract infection (URTI), one of the most common respiratory diseases, has a high annual incidence. Trollius chinensis capsule has been used to treat URTI in China. However, the underlying-mechanisms remain unclear. ⋯ Overall, the present study clarified that quercetin, pectolinarigenin, beta-sitosterol, acacetin and cirsimaritin are proved to be the main effective compounds of Trollius chinensis capsule treating URTI, possibly by acting on the targets of IL6, AKT1, CASP3, CXCL8, MMP9 and EGFR to play anti-infectious, anti-viral, and anti-oxidative effects. This study provides a new understanding of the active compounds and mechanisms of Trollius chinensis capsule in URTI treatment from the perspective of network pharmacology.

Safety assessment of basiliximab using real-world adverse event data from the FDA Adverse Event Reporting System Database: A retrospective observational study.
This study analyzed adverse drug events (ADEs) associated with basiliximab, sourced from the Food and Drug Administration Adverse Event Reporting System (FAERS) database, spanning the first quarter of 2004 to the fourth quarter of 2023. We collected ADE data for basiliximab from 2004 Q1 to 2023 Q4. After standardization, we employed several signal quantification methods for analysis, such as the Reporting Odds Ratio (ROR), Proportional Reporting Ratio (PRR), Bayesian Confidence Propensity for Neural Networks (BCPNN), and empirical bayes geometric mean (EBGM). ⋯ Notably, this study revealed some adverse reactions beyond basiliximab drug instructions, such as mitral valve calcification, diastolic dysfunction, pelvic fluid collection, testicular swelling, soft tissue necrosis, and muscle necrosis. Although basiliximab offers therapeutic benefits, it carries the risk of several adverse reactions. Clinicians should monitor patients for signs of increased serum creatinine level, fever, cytomegalovirus infection, anaphylactic shock, mitral valve calcification, diastolic dysfunction, pelvic fluid collection, testicular swelling, soft tissue necrosis, muscle necrosis, and other events during clinical use.

The association between dietary selenium intake and glaucoma remains unclear. Using data from the 2005 to 2008 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES), this study aimed to investigate the relationship between glaucoma and dietary selenium intake. The study included subjects aged 40 years or older who participated in the NHANES dietary intake interview and vision health questionnaire. ⋯ This is the first study to look at the connection between dietary selenium intake and glaucoma based on the data from the 2005 to 2008 NHANES. Our findings suggested that dietary selenium intake maybe positively correlated with the risk of glaucoma in adults older than 40 years old. To find out the potential relationship between dietary selenium intake and glaucoma, More longitudinal studies are required.
