Parenteral nutrition does not improve postoperative recovery from radical cystectomy: results of a prospective randomised trial.
After radical cystectomy, patients are in a catabolic state because of postoperative stress response, extensive wound healing, and ileus. ⋯ Postoperative TPN is associated with a higher incidence of complications, mainly infections, and higher costs following ePLND, cystectomy, and UD versus oral nutrition alone.

A randomized, double-blind, dose-finding, multicenter, phase 2 study of radium chloride (Ra 223) in patients with bone metastases and castration-resistant prostate cancer.
Patients with castration-resistant prostate cancer (CRPC) and bone metastases have an unmet clinical need for effective treatments that improve quality of life and survival with a favorable safety profile. ⋯ Ra 223 had a dose-dependent effect on serum markers of CRPC activity, suggesting that control of bone disease with Ra 223 may affect cancer-related outcomes. Ra 223 was well tolerated at all doses.

Active surveillance (AS) has emerged as a treatment strategy for reducing overtreatment of screen-detected, low-risk prostate cancer (PCa). ⋯ A large proportion of men with screen-detected PCa can be managed with AS. AS appears safe for men with low-risk PCa.

Addition of radiotherapy to long-term androgen deprivation in locally advanced prostate cancer: an open randomised phase 3 trial.
Radiotherapy combined with androgen-deprivation therapy (ADT) is superior to radiotherapy alone in localised prostate cancer; however, data comparing ADT alone are somewhat limited. ⋯ Combined therapy strongly favoured improved PFS, locoregional control, and metastasis-free survival. Longer follow-up is needed to assess the potential survival impact.

OnabotulinumtoxinA improves health-related quality of life in patients with urinary incontinence due to idiopathic overactive bladder: a 36-week, double-blind, placebo-controlled, randomized, dose-ranging trial.
Patients with urgency urinary incontinence (UUI) due to overactive bladder (OAB) refractory to oral antimuscarinics have limited therapeutic options. OnabotulinumtoxinA appears to be an effective new treatment. ⋯ A single onabotulinumtoxinA treatment with doses≥100 U resulted in statistically significant and clinically meaningful improvement in HRQOL by week 2 compared with placebo, and this improvement was sustained for ≤36 wk in patients with idiopathic OAB and UUI who were inadequately managed by oral antimuscarinics.
